On the main page of the d-structure site iannick is doin one of the dopest looking one footed grinds i've ever seen on skis. does anyone know if that is in any of this year's videos? or any videos at all? or does he do unorthodox stuff like that in any of his seg's in the new videos?

^Actually, what it is is a product of a strangely timed photograph just as he was about to hop off the box. Iannick's roller style is getting pretty pronounced lately... it certainly has its upside. So technical it's ridiculous. I mean, where do you go from a 360 sw up?

one-footed slides are sick, iannic rules and for everyone who thinks its dumb to do one-footed and that inline influence is bad just stop seriously, thats the stupidest thing i have ever heard, plus 2 years from now you will all be tryin one footers and inline style mannn i seriously cant take the idea that inline is a bad influence, one-footers and rail variations are truely needed for skiing to progress!

 
Yeah it is a backslide. I think it looks sick. Whether you like rollerblading or not, it definitely has some influence, look at Iannick, Crichton, etc. Crichton talks about it being the sickest thing out there. Hell, all three phils started rolleblading and took it to the hill.

For those who think in-line has no place in skiing, then you can take away what some of best skiers in the indutry have brought you. Start with Cusson and the first flatspins, how do you think he learned them in the first place?

So many pros have at one point, or still are, tried rollerblading. Most of them don't mention it because of stupid sterotypes like we often see on this site.

Skiing comes from skiing but IT has been positively influenced by many other sports and in-line is just one of them... just stop the hypocrisity...

I personally think that most varations look sketchy, but its cool that there trying diffrent stuff and im sure that there is new stuff to learn that looks good.

That paticular pic of iannik I dont think looks very good, but if he dropped his arms and ski a little it would look really smooth with a bs 270 out.

There's way too much talk about what influences what and all that. Of course everything influences everything, but even if no other sports existed, it seems obvious for skiers to try one footers on rails. Its technical and can be done with a ton of style (that picture has style coming out its ass), that's the nature of progression.

Variety is good.
