I was just checking out the tgr blog when I came across this.

The first pic is ian right before he eats some serious shit, and the second pic is the result. Who thinks this is like the burliest skier ever?(I do believe I would cry if I ever fell hard enough to tear a b-squad in half like that)

My ski coach from last year grew up with him racing. One day at a race when it was a powder day, Ian started skiing the course, then jumped the netting on the side, skied the pow all the way down, jumped back in and finished the race. Got DQed, but he got to ski pow all day like he wanted to. How epic is that?

he's pretty good but i think hugo takes the cake then hjorliefson then maybe ian, oh ya and sometimes i ski sunshine and are you that kid that skis with that really good dude in the purpleish blue onpiece?

uhhh...does the name nobis mean anything to you?

there are a lot of crazy ass european shredders also-stian hagen, sverre lilliquest, kaj zackrisen.

its hard to compare different styles.

ian is probably one of my favorite skiers to watch. so ballsy.

that is true kaj's run at the verbier extremes was one of the sickest ever but look at Hugo he has been a big name in the sport forever and know one has as solid technique or stomping capabilities like him. Although nobis is ridiculous as well

Dude you gotta remember the target audience of this website,

this is NS after all not TGR

name drops here are all about wallish, step, 4bi9, etc, etc

which is a shame as sverre lilliquest and kaj zackrisen fucking kill it.

true true..

theres a good portion of big mtn guys on here though.

sverre rips the sickest line in wolvie in the waiting game..that line makes me drool everytime i see it

thats pretty damn gnarly

I am going to say it right now,

for the type of big mountain skiing he does, he is the best out there,

his lines in Lost and found were mind blowing.

so I am just going to effectively straight line this 2000 vert line that is a constant 50 degrees with multiple 30+ cliffs in it.

yeah I am better then you.

his double stager in l&f when he basically lands the first on the knuckle of the second is ridiculous and i believe there was an almost identical one he did in anomaly. no doubt the kid is right up there with the best of 'em in AK and i also think that dana flahr will have a breakout year this year with tgr and tanner in AK.

and yes there are dozens of riders on a similar, maybe even higher level over here in europe but their focus is on the freeride world tour rather than filming, although i believe kaj is filming with msp this year so that should blow minds. also give some props to henrik windstedt the former freestyler who won this years fwt including insane victories in sochi and tignes.

cant remember his seggy in anomaly, but in lost and found he killed it, skis so hard and direct, good to watch, it would be good if he had a seggy in Tanners new movie.

With a name like the Massive then im guessing that it will be almost entirely big mountain, so mac should get some epic shots if he is involved

kaj and sverre have been in a couple amazing vids- the waiting game and respect..pick em up if you can- 2 of the best big mountain movies out there.

Ive known Ian for a a few years and skiing with him scares me. hes amazing, straight up 6,3 mountain red neck who skis like hes high on PCP, stomping the shit out of anything that comes in his way.. Ian is the MAN

well on occasion when people rip as hard as ian mcintosh does, skis break. looks to me like he separated core materials, if im correct (some one correct me if my wrong) the bsquads have a sheet of titanium running through the ski, and based upon the photo, looks like the titanium separated from the rest of the core material.
