I wish skiing was as steezy as snowboarding

I snowboard and I think they're both steezy in there own ways. You are going to get fornicated in the asshole for making this gay thread.
 
I basically only ride with snowboarders, many of them would love to start skiing but don't have the motivation because they are to "old" and think it would be a waist.
 
I think its pretty cool that the winning snowboard slopestyle run in the xgames had a 180 in it while all the skiers were going spin to win..

both sports are way steezy but snowboarding stresses style a lot more..
 
I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday.

Sitting on the chair going up, there were snowboarders going slowly, doing butters or 3's off everything, 180 off a trees etc. And then you see a skier doing 1's and 3's off bumps in the run and it just looks so pencilled out.

I used to snowboard, did for about 10 years, and now I ski almost exclusively because I love the way it looks. Jon Olsson, Tanner Hall, Charles Gagnier have way more style than Shaun White and Jeremy Jones. atleast 'I' think it looks cooler. Was this thread specificaly made for flames?
 
My friends who snowboard definitely have presses and butters going for them, it's just part of the differences in where the feet are located on the board.

However, that doesn't mean that skiing isn't steezy, and isn't unique in it's own way.
 
I think its right to say that they're steezy in different ways. Grabs n shit look better on skis...one of my friends who snowboards is always on about how skiiers make better "shapes"

I've snowboarded for over a decade and am converting over to skiing for a couple of reasons. I love the style and am looking for a new challenge. The guys killing it on skis now also seem more interesting. Watching IDEA and seeing those guys riding switch in pow, cmon. Way more interesting than riding a snowboard switch. stop making skiing vs. snowboarding threads. they're dumb and repetitive and the only reason you're doing it is to start an argument.
 
Skiing is, just in different ways, other than a method what grabs do skiers have that look nearly as good as ski grabs? We sin jumps for sure, they are just a little better on normal runs.
 
I'm thinking they're both pretty steezy, and i'm thinking you can't debate if snowboarding is cooler then skiing, its personal prefrance dude
 
what i like about skiing is that to grind a rail u pretty much have to go sideways on it but snowboarder go forwards on them and they call it grinding
 
snowboarders and do fuckin sweet jibbing shit. butters and what not, and jib anything (aka. THINK THANK). kinda jealous of that.

but both good in there own way i guess

What a ridiculous thing to say. You must think you are better than everyone else. I think its really interesting to see a somewhat civil argument about something like this, shows some progress for NS (though little).

On the other note i completely agree theres something about snowboarding that i can never fully put my finger on that i never see in skiing, the attitude seems to be much different as well. I've ridden solely with snowboarders for the entire time i've skied in the park and every once in a while have a snowboarder come up and say i look like one, which i personally take as a compliment.
 
what a gay queston. steeze is something that happens with skill. you should whatch some good hard ass ski movies.
 
Skiing is way better lookin in my opinion and actually takes some skill to do stuff in the park. Like to slide a rail you have to go sideways you cant just bitch out and ride on like snowboards. Also grabs look ten times better on skis and you have way more variations of grabs then you do on a snowboard. I do ski with many snowboarders by the way.

Another thing I dont really see anyone blowing up like Tom Wallish or Vanular in Snowboarding. Like all the snowboarders I know dont know any superuknown people, they just know the big names like Sean white, travis rice, and Danny Kass. First of all Sean White has no steeze. I mean he can spin fast and what not but I dont see much style in him. While you see people like Hatviet and Walisch on rails particularly who have technical tricks while just looking totally at ease. I mean even Jon Olsen who does his kango has more steeze thank any snowboarder Ive seen. And honestly everyone and their moms snowboards these days so the ratio of gaper to steezy person is alot lower than in skiing.
 
i think the shittiest athletes snowboard because they think theyll be cool even though they suck, and a noob snowboarder doesnt look as bad as a noob skier, but i think people like coreyvanular are steezier than a snowboarder could ever hope to be
 
I'll give you the grabs but I dunno about rails...or jibbing in general. Just my preference though, I snowboard and I really like skiing, but I like our jibbing better, but I definetely like you guys in the air much more
