I wish I was rich

This is coming from some one who gets a lot of new gear each year. I mean a lot. Right now I have 7 pairs of skis that I did not have a year ago. To be honest I wish I did not. Not for financial reasons, I don't pay for most of it, and that which I do I can generally get cheap or used.
No the reason I wish I did not get new gear is because I enjoy skiing more when I don't care about the color of my jacket, or the brand and model of the skis attached to my feet. Unfortunately I often do care, and I don't think I have ever enjoyed a day on the hill more because I had a really sick set up or brand new skis. I see people out there every day who have 10-20 year old gear, and as often as not these are the people who seem to be enjoying themselves the most.
This next year I am going to try and not think to much about the gear I have. with 10 pairs of skis it can be difficult to decide which pair to take out. Skiing should not require thought like that. I don't want it to matter. From hear on out I am a recovering gear head.

everyone wishs they where rich or that they just had free money but thats not the way it is. unless your 12 and your parents are rich. i have a job during the summers that makes enough money to pay for my new ski gear. if i had to work at mcdonalds to get money to pay for skiing i would because skiing means everything to me and i will go as far as asking if you would like fries with that so i can afford my season pass and other things. get over it your not rich so go get and job and at least have enough money to buy some of the things you want/need

one way to save money is not buy skis at full price. if you work all summer then you should be pretty well set. buy jackets from freinds or on ns.

but yes being rich would be the best i dont know about the rest of you but money will bring me happyness

if you live with ur parents and you have a summer job their is no reason why you cannot afford all the gear you need. Your parents provide everything you need and all the cash you make is purely for entertainment. You should easily be able to earn around 1-3 grand if you work full time in the summer.

Now if you have to pay your own rent or college loans then i completely see your frustration and it can be a pain to try and get money for gear.

if you can't brag, it doesn't count. kinda like if you hit a rail and eat shit...you wouldn't count it. but this brings me to my point...screw alotta ugly hos?
