I wish I was rich

I wish I was rich so I could do all the things must of you can do.

Summer camps look amazing, Ski trips. New skis every season , new outerwear. It must be nice to be rich.

it doesnt matter how much you work, or how hard you work. it really matters on if you have $ or not. Who ever said $ doesnt bring happiness is fucking full of shit. end

mmmm get a job dude... work 50 hour weeks in the summer and you can afford new stuff every few years. Earn your turns man.. one way or another....

Trust me I have been doing that, but it just doesnt pay off. Working all summer to work part time in the winter just leaves you in debt when spring comes around.

I get waht your saying, but a lot of people on here aren't rich. I'm going to windells, but only cuz I'm making 3 G's this summer working. If your not rich then get rich.

also, you havn't been "enlightened" as I like to call it. You realise(sp?) that money doesn't make you truely happy. You'll realize it sometime in your life, but its best to learn it as early as possible.

The only way to get rich is to work hard, take chances and accept the risk. You can't expect to get rich by doing part-time jobs.

one of the best pieces of advice you will get. knowing people and having them as friends(especially when your older) is really nice.

alot of us seem to get new gear every season, but mind you that we are spending all our money to do so

If you cant find a better job or only making minimum wage you have to sacrifice if you want to ski all winter with new stuff. There's alot of little things you can do. Cancel your txt plan on you cell phone, $20 a month, like that's like $250 a year. Buy a $20 dollar bike of Craig's List and bike to work, that can save like $15-20 a week easily (thats what I do), or carpool. Dont use your AC in the summer or turn your heat down in the winter to save on bills. Stop drinking... bars = expensive.. and dude dont buy from the local ski shops, wait for huge blow out sales online and you can pickup sweet deals on all sorts of good skis or buy used. I see setups on here every once in a while for like $250 or so, not a bad deal. And dont get hung up on your gear anyways just enjoy getting out and ripping it.

I worked all summer for new outerwear last season, bought my new skis, had my passes paid for by my coaching job partly, and got discounts on them anyways.
Got my skis on pro-deal, outerwear at a blow-out sale. Summer camp this summer is just about the only thing my parents are paying for, and I am pretty damn lucky for that. Skis for this winter I worked for, and got at a blowout sale. Passes will be partly paid for again by coaching job.
You don't have to be ridiculously rich to do all this shit, you just need a job and dedication.

stop complaining.

i'm not rich.

i use a soccer reffing job to pay for my gear. 2-3 hours on weekends, a few times a month=300 pay check at the end of the season. that bought me a saga coat, and full tilt boots with 40 left over.

i don't have a full, or even part time job, but i still get money for new gear.

if i can get money with out working for it (over 25 per game, U10 girls)

then you should be able to make even more money if you actually want to work for it. try refereeing your sport. super easy money. youth lacrosse refs make 60-80 per game.

i assume many of you guys posting arent in college either, i work 40+ hours a week and make descent money and am still in debt up to my eye balls

Most of the kids who are going to summer camps every year are getting it paid by their parents. You dont need to go to camp every year anyway unless you are trying to become pro or something.

You dont need new gear every year, maybe once every 2-3 years. Look for cheap shit in the gear trading section of NS.

Ski trips dont cost that much if you do it on the cheap (i.e. carpool, eat cheap food, camp out or stay at friends)

But yes, you are pretty much right, money can do alot of things for you. You got to work with what you got though man, all there is to it.

Heres what I do. I mow lawns and do a bunch of landscaping all summer. Leaves me with a good aomunt of money. I know a few of the right people so at least half of my passes last season were free. Also I am very thrifty. I get outerwear and expensive for cheap here on newschoolers. Also get the last years s. The afterbangs are the only thing that I won't get for an amazing deal all season.

yo man you don't need new shit just enjoy being out on slopes with what ya got.

But i feel ya man thoes kids who get all new shit every season and 4 whole set ups of skis that their parents buy is bullshit and they get whatever they want when they want it is just crap.

set goals man hopefully it all works out

it's those dumb kids who keep the ski industry alive and profitable, despite my complete and utter annoyance w/them and their scenester ways

Stop being such a vagina face. I worked all spring and made enough money to bumb around Hood for a month. Sack up and find some yard work jobs and you can find yourself skiing. "I wish I was rich." What a load of bullshit.

Dont worry dude, your not the only person on here that cant buy new shit every season, or go to ski camps. There arent a lot of people that can do that. Skiing is expensive and a lot of kids that do are loaded. I mean if you can even afford to do it at all your have to be at least lower middle class.

Go to college and get yours

Caddy at your local golf course if you have one. thats what i do all summer and you can make a ton of money. my friend made over 200 bucks in one weekend, but thats how much some guys make in one trip so its really good money.

you are not poor at all. some people cant even afford to ski at all, and some people cant even afford to eat. quite complaining and get a job

"it doesnt matter how much or hard you work it only matters if you have money" that doesnt really makes since because a lot of people who do have money work there asses off 14 hour days 6 days a week for the past 40 years of there life.

It's not hard to make enough money to buy new gear. Say you get it in the B&S here, or on sale in spring, and you can do skis and bindings for under 500, outerwear for around 300, boots around 300, everything else cheaper still. 1000-1200 dollars is what, two paychecks at your usual summer job? Now, the trips and the camps, that's real money. But speaking as someone who has never made much money and will be a poor indebted university student until next year, I never had trouble finding gear, passes etc. even without proform and stuff like that. There are always opportunities.

im poor too. i bought my skis used, my snowpants for like 30, and jacket like 40. im probley alot more poor than you. but the reason i dont complain is because i dont do anything about it. i dont hav a job, i hav no income in any way. so dont complain, just look at my outerwear and skis to see how small it is on me and you will feel better about your self

to all you people who refuse to realize that you are rich some of us dont have enough money to spend all of our extra cash on ski shit and actually have responsibilities and bills to pay....

I work 40 hours a week at the boy and girls club pool for 10$ all summer I save my $$$$ I buy all my own shit get a job.

ok but he is also being a "good" american for supporting the idea of laissez faire and capitalism by buying the cheapest stuff. oh noez, the wal-mart effect will do us in

we all wish we were more financially inclined. even those with money always wish for more. I cant afford hood but i dont let it get me down im perfectly fine with sliding pvc when i can get ahold of that and bumming around the same resort during the winter works for me. My outfits probably the cheapest one around and i get alot of respect for it (and alot of hate but fuck hater's). skis are free, boots iv had same ones for sooo many years everyone makes fun of me for it. bindings are such a bitch

harden the fuck up you whining pussy. jesus kids like you are so pathetic that you have to lay off your problems on those you feel have it easy or are born with a silver spoon. so what? stop being a little envious bitch and do something about it. theres a lot more people that aren't rich and have to earn their shit. they do anyways because you know why? they dont waste their time trying to make their life seem worse than it already is. sound like such a little bitch and yes, with a post like that, this hate is more than warrented for.

I wish I could delete this thread.
I don't have much money, but I've learned that if there's a will there's a way... ESPECIALLY with skiing

dude nobody was born rich, people have earned there money from hard working, dont say they are lucky and just wake your ass at 5 in the morning like all the others and get to work then youll have money too. It easy to just say that people are lucky. Many of those who afford camp worked all summer long and ate kraft dinner all year long to go to camp. It only a choice to make. They are sure some exception but If you really want to afford camp make it happen dude, stop being jealous about the others and save some money by working 2-3 jobs in summer, eat cheap shit and work part time during school and try saving the more you can then youll be set for next years. Only buy the minimum stuff that you need to live and make some priority. If you do all of this, youll be skiing next summer. Its your life and you have to choose what youu want to do with it, but dont blame the others.

says mr rich pants
my average balance of money is pretty much zero because i spend it all on shit i wantif i was rich i would just buy even more shit i want to the point that i wouldn't have any goals to earn money for shit i want
i would like 1200 dollars right now tho

It is so true. I work part time and I will have enough for new skis, boots and outerwear. In 5 paychecks it will all be paid for

maybe you should get a better job. i work full time and go to grad

school full time and can still manage to buy my pass and everything

else i need and go to camp in the summer while keeping up with my

bills. its not just how much money you make or have...its how you

manage your money too.

most people on this site are not rich they work for what they have. it

is wrong to assume stuff like that. all you are doing is making people

mad and looking like a whiny little brat who is mad he didnt get what he wanted
