I wish every kid could experience Windells

I had a long converstion with Tim Windell after our event there a couple of weeks ago. The event went off and we are going work more events with Windells in the future. Can't waite to go back. The vibe at the camp was what our culture is all about. I wish every kid could experience a session at Windells at least once in their life. Tim will have left a huge mark on the world when he's gone.

This isnt the drugs talking right? Or you want all of us to experience an epic double front overshot?

Really though, too expensive heh~

windells was really sick im goin up to hood in like a week to shred a couple days but wont be hitting much. WOHOO

Scott,

Definatly not the drugs talking. I would not wish what happened to me on anyone accept maybe Binladen. It is unfortunate that so many kids out there can't afford it. I wish all of them could. It may be the key to peace on earth... Ok that was the drugs.

double front over shot? i overshot a jump at mammoth this year and did 1.5 front flips. knocked out cold for like 15 minutes, woke up in the ambulence. yours was probably much much worse but i feel your pain. good luck man

"The vibe at the camp was what our culture is all about. I wish every kid could experience a session at Windells at least once in their life."

I couldn't agree more! I have never been to Windells as a camper but ALWAYS wanted to go so bad. This year I got the chance to go out to stay with the Windells coaches, film and live the Windells life for 2 weeks. It was totally unreal. The facilities are crazy, I'm not just talking on mountain.

When you see where the actual camp is its aesthetically overwhelming; there is so much cool shit around you don't even know where to begin. The entire Windells campus is one massive skatepark, you cannot even begin to understand the scope of this unless you've seen it in person. I cannot imagine what it would have been like to go to Windells when I was 13-14. Camp Food was surprisingly high quality, I had low expectations and was impressed with the Heshin's culinary skills for dining hall style food.

When I first arrived at Camp I kept hearing about this "BOB" fellow, it was spoken of like he was a legend. But I truly didn't understand what or who Bob was until I saw it. B.O.B. is a massive indoor warehouse filled with a gigantic skate park, mini ramp, trampolines, foam pit, ping pong table and foosball. I'm not much of a skater but if I was I would've been in heaven if I was.

Jebus I haven't even mentioned the on-hill facilities yet, which says a lot about the Camp; so much to do off-hill, your not too sad when the lifts close. The jumps and rail setups are kept in excellent condition for summer skiing. I was expecting serious slush on inruns and rails with shotty take offs. Windells diggers are absolutely on point and it shows. Jumps were perfectly manicured and fast. Windells is up high enough on the mountain that your skiing on nice mid-winter-granular the whole time your up there.

Coaches. Goddamn. Windells Ski Program is stacked. Tom Wallisch, Liam Downey, Steve Stepp, Ben Moxham, Witt Sherman, Collin Collins & Mike Hornbeck. Not much more you really need to say about that. The present and future of skiing.

Now that I officially sound like a Windells advertisement I'd just like to say. I'm jealous of all of you that get to go to Windells. All I can say is that I wish I had been lucky enough to go when I was a grom. Everyone is absolutely stoked to be at Windells and it shows.

I Agree with Brad and Skodeo completely. I loved windells this year it was amazing all the campers are so fun and you can always find someone just to hang out with for the entire week. I feel so lucky that i went for the session i went. I went to session 5 and the weather was amazing. A bit rainy at nights but super warm on the hill with the sun shining. Ive never been on a trip as amazing as windells. The coaches are incredible on the hill and the coaches include mike hornbeck, steve stept, wallisch and even more amazing coaches. I am going back next year and to all the kids out there...go earlier in the sessions. Although it may be more expensive, there will be more snow and it will make it just so much better even if it is a little bit more money its worth it.

I wish i could go so bad, ever since i heard of them and saw there website i was set on going but my parents say its to expensive.

......or be like everyother poor skier there and camp in the woods and hike up to ski for the summer....pay a ton for one week

Yo, brad. First of all props on being a fucking machine about this recovery and shit. But Windells is just too much $$$$. I'm personally a huge fan of Mt hood summer ski camp. they hold it down hard. Kevin malone, sean decker, nolan willard, all some of the dopest skiers ive ever seen. our park isnt fancy with red bull features and shit but it is fun and a lot of the windells pros seem to think so as well. So i mean go to windells if you have some serious fucking dough but MHSSC is a great alternative

Hey, Im from norway, and I really want to go to Windells or COC next year!

Do you think its worth the money?

save up your own money.thats what im doing. i got a job only so i could go to camp next summer(momentum or coc) and begged my parents for a looooooooooooooooong time

agh i had the lucky chance to go there back when i used to snowboard, and it is everything they say it is...

word dude our session was soo fun, definitely the best week of my life, and its great to ride with a ns'er all week only to find out on like the last day that they were on ns....

MC_Poutine,

Thanks for the props, and you definatly make a good point. There are several great camps to choose from. My statement was more about the camp experience and spending a week kicking it with kids who share the chase of Progression. I could not agree more about Hood. It is important to the growth of our culture that we get together and hang out from time to time just like we do verbaly every day on NS. Camps are mostly about getting together and celebrating our "One Love". That is the vibe Windells puts out and I hope all camps do the same. Windells top priority is sending kids hope feeling good about themselves and proud to be a member of the Freeride Culture.

There is also the new camp back east Ohio Dreams. This camp is a great option for kids back east. I spent a few days there in June, and it is great time. I hope more and more good camps pop up. They are a great thing.

they dont lie in thier ad when they say its the funnest thing on earth. There is no end to the stuff you can do there on and off hill and the coaches are unreal and supportive. Best and most progressive vibe ever.

Windell's is pretty unreal, I just got to see it when we did the event and from three days there I wish I could go camp there now and I'm 21. the park there was ill, it was too icey for me to hit up the jumps so I just jammed with some rad kids on a flat box and the vibe was amazing. go there if you can you won't regret it.

Here are a couple photos of brad

This is Brad over the knuckle on the step up I'm saying conservitively a 60 foot step he is coming down a little bit but he is about 4 brads high right there

This photo was taken right at the moment I realized that I had a huge problem. I was just coming around from the first front and all I saw was the valley.

I don't remember exactly when the hospital photo was taken.

What up Brad,

I can't believe you lived through that. It almost looks fake. I have never seen anything like that. Did you clear the hole thing? Hope your alright. Keep ripping.

thats insane, im sorry to hear about that
+++ vibes for sure, and keep ripping
haha i love the hand in the hospital picture by the way

Noway dude! the adult campers get the sick coaching, use of facillities, and then they party every night.

whats the east camp? is it real snow? thats cool. well for me hood is a great option cus i live in seattle but that sounds sick. what hospital you at?
