And I ended up buying new skis, bindings, and renting another pair of boots. I bought the 08 line invaders and got some decent saloman(sp?) bindings and rented a nice pair of boots for 25$. We were only planning on returning my boots but got my whole setup, only thing is we forgot the poles. And the guy that took care of me was mad cool his name was Jeremy? and he skis at bristol...Ya so im pretty happy. Cant wait to ski.

I always do it and im only 16 so im still growing. I also dont have enough money to buy boots so 25$ for boots is a good deal.

seriously!!!

id buy new boots before i bought anything else

renting boots is ok is theyr brand new and your demoing them to see if theyr the ones you want to buy...

but renting boots just to use them is a bad bad idead

i would definatley reat skis before boots man.... i'm 16 to and definataley still growing, but i always blow my moey on boot and custom footbeds, cuz it makes a huge differnece in your skiing ability.... if ur just a park skier maybe they don't matter quite as much tho

well if he really doesn't have enough money for both you guys keep sayin boots first, but a lot of mountains, particularly on the east coast, dont rent twins...

lots of places you can...mostly just salomon and they ussually have 1 or 2 types...but you can find them if you look.

Definitely try to get some new boots if you can help it..

especially now that your feet are most likely done growing, I'd seriously save your allowance, and plead with the grandparents to let you buy new boots..

oh, and when you DO get new boots, be sure to take the advice of the guy fitting you... he knows what hes talking about when he tells you ski boots are not the same sizes as your potentially large skateshoes.

i used to always lease boots from snow country in canandaigua. The guys there were always cool. basically you take any new boot you want and just have to return it when the year is over and it would cost me like 75 bucks.

On the 08's?

The 08's should actually be okay about that whole thing...

the 07's kinda fixed that problem.. at least for the mostpart.

Hes 16... unless hes a fatty mcfat fat, I think he will be okay no matter...

seriously man when i went out west i carried on my boots to the plane. you can always demo or rent skis. but once you feel how a boot should feel on your foot you will be like...damn i would have been so much more comfertable to begin with. SUMMARY look at boots, get boots fitted, buy fitted boots, then look at other shit

You shoulda bought new boots there for like $200 or so, and then returned them next year, they give you 60% back after 1 year of use. Snowcountry/skicompany are good about that shizz.

What the hell i typed so much more than that^

But I owe my mom 455$ and cant afford to buy a pair of new boots and the people that helped me out there got me some pretty good boots compared to past years. And im sure some of you telling me to get new boots have your parents buy your shit...well mine dont, I buy all of me shit so take that into consideration.

I rent boots, and I have for years. im 15 and my feet are still growing, if I bought I would have to get new ones each year and do all the customizing etc. over again. that being said I do rent new boots for the season so they usually break into my foot and I can get a good pair for the season. I might buy this upcoming season though if my feet stop growing. nothing wrong with renting a pair though, especially because where I go I can bring them in halfway through the season if my feet grew or if they're uncomfortable and swap them for a new pair. enjoy the new setup.

Same here since I got them a few months before ski season they told me if they dont fit or if they are uncomfortable just to bring them back and they will hook me up with another pair.

i dont think boots are that big of a deal

i buy the cheapest ones every year and cheapest skis i can find and just beat the shit out of them untill they brake. then this ficious cycle is repeated

It's says "at about 14" everyone grows differently, that's just an average. some people stop growing at 13, some can continue gradually until 17 or 18. im 15, 16 very soon and im still growing taller.

Foot growth is different than height growth.

Foot growth at 16 years of age is abnormal.

bah, plus I'm still 15. but I will be 16 come ski season. my hiking boots from last summer are a little tight now, but they still fit.

Where is your statistic to back up your erroneous claim about foot growth in teenagers and this massive group of people with foot growth at age 16?

mate i have been using my own boots since i was 4.. i am 16 now, the padding inside generaly stretches and you can use them for another size up atleast

"Feet stop growing at about 14 years in boys"

Without even mentioning the fact that's a Japanese study, "about 14" does not suddenly cut off at 16.

I think hes trying to say that you havent changed boots since kindergarden so you must of had some big feet because thats what you made it sound like.
