I want to ski.

I'm 20 and I haven't skied since I was 12. I feel like I could get back into it fairly easily, but the problem is I have no gear. I'm 5' 10" and just want to cruise around, no park stuff. My question to you guys is this; wtf should I get for skis/poles/boots? I don't know what size skis to buy or anything, I know I could google it but I figured I'd ask here to sort of introduce myself to the community.
Anyway, recommend some stuff for me. :)

look into some Solomon skis they have some cheaper stuff for boot check a second hand ski shop depending on where you live or Check on Evo.com they have some older models for poles get an old pair and cut them down to what you think is appropriate length. it just depends what your price range is because there is a lot of choices.
Also where would you be skiing?

I'll check those out, thanks.
Wachusett is very popular around here... My Aunt and Uncle ski every weekend at Loon in NH. Actually, they just got rid of a bunch of skis and boots and poles, I'll ask them if they want to donate. :D

go to a local ski swap and get a ski that is somewhat recent, and is up to your eyes in length

You're from the east, huh?
me too.
wachusett gets congested imho
For you're looking for just cruisin, hit up mt snow. The whole mountain is pretty much nice long blue-square cruisers. you'll enjoy

I'd say just rent stuff for a little while. If you decide that you love it and you want to ski every weekend then buy some gear

Oh word? I've never been to Wachusett but my brother boards there once in awhile. Loon is the only place I have ever skied. I'll check out Mt. Snow, sounds perfect.
Renting to me seems a bit pointless, spending money on something I'm just going to give back. I'd rather have my own stuff and if I really don't enjoy myself (which isn't going to happen) then I can just sell the gear. I don't know, I like having my own things.
