but came to the realization that my flatmate and i are the only two canadians in this town and no one knows what canada day is. fail.

hmm?
i'm in newzealand right now so when i wrote this it was early evening... and when are you supposed to celebrate it? canada day is a huge drunk fest with fireworks!

and.... other guys going on about st johns... boooo newfoundland. haha i'm from nova scotia.

i find it hard to believe that there are only two canadians in any town in new zealand at any given time...but then i've also heard (from kiwis) that nz is practically in the shitter these days.

your friend and you should just get drunk and have rough sex. that's probably the best (if not only) way to celebrate.

hooray for canda, i don't live there but it's awesome anyway. do what k-rob said.

well our scottish roommate kept asking random people all day if they were canadian so that we could make a little group... but everyone we asked was from somewhere in europe!
we are the only two canadians in our department at work which is a pretty large one.

no that will be difference because you can make fun of them because your ancestors beat their ancestors.

we have no idea what canada day is because every american knows canada has absolutely no reason to celebrate anything about itself

Yeah but nowhere goes off quite like Halifax on Canada day to be fair. Where are you from in Nova Scotia? I skied at Martock for a long time.
Also I feel ya on the lack of celebrations, I had to work until nearly 1 am tonight, so my night was pretty much a write off.

born in kentville, raised in greenwood/tupperville and went to school in bridgetown. so annapolis valley born and bred. haha. i want to say that when i was little i learnt how to ski at martock but it was actually at sugarloaf in maine. but my mom was a ski instructor at martock so i spent a lot of time there when i was younger. then moved to winnipeg where i stopped skiing... then eventually made it out to the westcoast and took up snowboarding instead of skiing and then one and a half seasons ago i started skiing again! woo.
i miss nova scotia.

are you on the north or south island? RyanC is there for a while, and I'm sure he'd party with you, even though he's american

Haha I grew up in Falmouth. How recently did your mom teach at Martock? I taught there for a few years, before moving to Banff.

mmm i don't see how i'm a stupid whore.
anyways, uhm ages and ages ago... i have her ski manuals from like the 70's so definitely not while you were there... she could have taught you how to ski though!
