heres the story, i am currently rriding 157 chronic wides and they come up to aboutmy nose or a tiny bit more. now, these skis are going to die soon so ima pick up a pair nextt month for summer camp and next year. this ski will only be park so true center. i asked for a 171 invader and they said that it would be a huge change and way to big. for reference im like 5'6 and maybe 110 pounds. since the ski will be true center i think it would be the right size for camp and next year considering im still growing. they told me to go with the 161 invader for camp and next year...i personally think theyre dumbasses but lets hear what u guys have to say about this.

Def get 171's

Im like 5'11 and i ride 180s and a pair of 183's. I just like a long ski and my 183's are so light, i can still spin really easily on them off of small shit. I swear you can just get more pop with longer skis and go faster, buttering is dope too.

how old are you??

cause at 110 you prolly dont have much muscle so 171 would be a bit long.

and center mounting a ski that ios to long for you just makes it harder for your knee to ski all day.

I think you should go mid sixty or something.

these skis need to last me like im guessing until january next year. i was thinking of the 167 stls tho, they look so dope. also, line mesures its skis with curves so the ski is probably like 168 or some im guessing in normal mesurments.

you have to keep in mind that im using ma chronics till end of season and invaders for summa an afta...i still have lke 2 and a half months before camp...so i will grow in that period of time.

^you arnt gunna grow 6 inches in two months kid

just go with the 161 when they get to small break em and get a new pair in the 171

thanks man. even tho this is my first year of 100% freeskiing i know how to ski. i can 180, sw 180, 360, boxes, rails...like most of the easy stuff.

Shops will always recommend skis on the short side to make sure they aren't putting people on skis that will kick their ass. I was looking at 189 Squads earlier this year and a salesperson came up and recommended the 174 to me, to give you an idea.

ul find 171 a big change, but just get someone to feed ur skinny arse and ul bendem fine. id def step up

it will be a change but u will adjust quickley...go AT LEAST 171, 176 is even a possibility since ur going centre

A lot of it depends on your aggressivness, If youre hitting landing 50 footers switch then I would deffinetly go 171 most shop people don't know that a 540 or a switch 7 are getting fairly common

bigger equals better! i was one of those people who didn't understand why big skis were good. until i got on a pair. i had a pair of 165 TM's which i thought were fine. just for fun i tried out my friends 176 Thalls. i didn't think i could have any control but they slayed the mountain. i loved them. plus i had amazing pop that i didn't think i was gonna get since i'm so small. i'm only 5' 8" 13.

but to what nomen said, he's exactly right. the people in my shop don't really understand what park and freeskiing really is. my guess is go with the little younger person workin there. most of the time its a guy and they will be riding twins. at least its how it is where i work. but really listen to the person and ask them questions becuase i know a guy at my work who has no clue whats goin on and you'd think he would

yea 171 might be a little too much youre better off with something around 165 but its not really that much of a difference between 165 and 171 i guess so just get the 171s because youre gonna be getting them center mounted. bt maybe considering that fact that you are probably about 40 lbs lighter than the average 5'6 person that might be the reason why the shop is suggesting you get 161

im 5 5 or 5 6 and 135 pounds and i ride 176 and i like it. pretty big jump from 159 last year but after a day i was used to it. i wanna get 181 addicts next year and seeing as my dads 5 7 i wont grow a whole lot more

i just got a pair of 167s, and i'm 5'10"

same length as my gs skis

and scarily enough basically same mounting point

oo oo, and same brand, Rossi

that 167 or 171 sounds good, like nomensteven said the shop will always recommend way shorter than you need. a guy at christy's said i should go 167 and i'm 6' tall. what a doofus, i ride 180 easily

wow, you're getting skis to big for you, saze the 181 addicts for people who actually need them, seeing as you definitely don't.

if you want a park ski i'd go with the chronic's, if your getting line, i have the chronic blends 179 thier soo sick for park, i pop off jumps like it aint no thang, and riding switch makes me jizz in my pants and its 90 mid center so its good on the pow as well. the carbon olly band in it makes sure its not a super noodle ski, but the fujatives are pretty rad too. i've riden a couple ski's this year and so far i like the chronic blends the most
