I think it may be true that racers are actually true douche bags

I fucking hate racers with a passion.

Heres a story,

So I ski a small mountain (505ft vertical) and one year we had a liftee help us out and push some snow around so we had this huge pile of snow behind one of the parking lots. Me and a couple of buddies worked for like 3 days straight digging it out into a Drop-in-to-flat and then set up some PVC rails and a mini wall made out of plywood for stalling. So we called it the mini park and it was just a chill place to hangout. One dang we came back to the mini park after lunch in the lodge and like 6-7 racers are in it. Me and two other friends we're like "what are you doing here?" they replied "we can do anything we want to this because my parents said if we want this to be a only racer area it can be, so youre not allowed to be here" and we were like "wtf we made this and had them move snow because we asked, and spent days building this, its ours" The one kid went out and got his mom who started yelling at us that we couldnt be there, so I (being good friends with the mountain owner) got the owner to come out and he yelled at the racers a ton and said how he didnt even like them and that they were never allowed in the mini-park, and anyone who was wouldnt be racing the next day. It was so great. Fuck racers.

Spark notes: Made a "mini-park", racers came in, said it was theirs, got the owner of the mountain to ban them from it.
 
this. most of my friends race and i did for the past three years. the best skiers on the team usually prefered to freeski instead of race and they were some of the most chill people i skied with, and these were some of the best in the state. the only people i came across that were dicks about snowboarders and freeskiers were the shitty skiers and bad freshmen
 
loolololol i love to have people telling me where to turn on a sheet of ice. sounds like such a blast!!!!!!! good thing they have coaches and my personal favorite RACER DADS to tell them that they have to tuck just little bit more and get a litte bit more edge. racers are a joke
 
racers are better skiers than we will ever be... but they wear spandex so they have no room to talk, no pun intended.

survive skiing down the birds of prey course at beaver creek, than realize they race down that. no one on this site can do that, not even jon olsson.

but dbag racer weekend warriors and racer dads who cut you off on the cat walk making their super g turns on the 5 meter wide cat walk are probably my least favorite people on the mountain. ahead of gapers and snowboarders who talk shit about skiers. though ill admit i do respect those guys who go down these olypmic sized super g courses at 80mph. that takes some nads.
 
I saw two snowboarders on the lift yesterday who ha board with bases that said "man" and "pussy", so together, they said "man pussy". I t was quite hilarious. /unrelated post.
 
to all the people from before who said not all racers are d bags, i know that, i actually used to race on this girls team and there were some chill kids.
 
Some racers are arseholes, most aren't same as park rats. Some are arseholes some aren't. Just the one's that are areseholes are more vocal than the ones that aren't. And as Cole said are the shitter skiers. Most that are good have a mutual respect.
 
95% of the racers at my hill are scared of park skiers. they think we are all actual gangsters and we are going to shank them or something. best example: yesterday waiting in line for a quad chair me and my buddy all "swagged" out or whatever you would like to call it were next in line and two kids in spandex were up next in the double line next to us. when the liftie called for the four of us to take the next chair they both looked behind them and motioned the two snowboarders behind them to move forward and take their place and said "go ahead we will just take the next one". I lost it so hard. i was like seriously? are park rats really that scary?

I'll just say, as a kid who does both racing and freestyle (but I like freestyle more) that some racers are total douche bags, but not all are.

Used to ski race. Did wonders for my skiing but I hated being around racers. They all acted like they owned everything when it was mommy or daddy that bought them new skis, helmets and skin suits every year. Parents were shitheads too. Everyone wanted to be the best and no one would ski for the fun of it. It felt like a chore getting up every morning to go skiing. Now I wake up the same time and just instruct kids how to ski or ski for fun if there are no kids and I love it. I became so much more passionate about skiing.

Glad I backed out of it after 4 years. Couldn't handle that douchebaggery shit anymore. It was great for my skiing though!
 
nat as bad as the comment i get from people looking at my one lifes. "Skis are broken on 4 spots man" "o are those some water skis??" "those are some bannaner shaped skis eh"
 
got the us ski team at 7 springs the other day. they were yelling about the single line making a big deal about the lift and how people were cutting. One girl from the us team ask me if i was single (single line) i told her i was in a relationship and she flipped haha
 
Well, that's a WC downhill course, so yes the guys that ski that will be better skiers than the majority, but there are way more shitty racers than there are good ones. And of course I could ski that run, just not as fast as the fastest skiers in the world. And of course Jon could too, even though he's not a DH racer.

I actually really like racing, where I work in Chile has no park, but does have a GS course set up every day, so I ended up hitting gates a lot, really fun.

The guys who race are just like everyone else too, some are idiots, some are chill, the Austrian world cup team trains there, and in general thought they were way too cool, the US, Canadians and Norwegians were much nicer.
 
HAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAH NO FUCKING WAY, I THINK I RODE ON THE CHAIR WITH THIS BITCH THE LAST TIME I WAS AT MSLM.

She was bitching me out for not wearing any goggles, and that my hoodie was too big. I mean, I could be wrong, but her facial structure looks similar to the girl I rode up with. I basically told her style was subjective, and because I love Tropic Thunder I quoted this:

Made for quite the awkward remainder of a chairlift ride, but whatever, not a fuck was given.
