I think I will get screwed

Okay, So I ended up Buying K2 P-E todays (04-05). I figured (probably the stupidest mistake that I ever did) that the shop would mount them around -2 from Core Center. When I get home, I check them and see that my tail is 1 foot long, and my nose 2 1/2 (these are not exact but pretty close). So I check on the side of the ski and there are markings. Could someone, a tech would be best, tell me were the bindings are supposed to be mounted following the little markings on the side of the ski. Because the very last marking, witch is MID SOLE, happens to be halfway between my bindings. That way I could tell them were they mounted them. THanks for the help.

I hope they give me new skis.

But what is the reference point, what should be aligned with the 5 line?

And I think I will get screwed because they probably wont give new skis when I go see them tomorrow.

The midsole mark is at +2 witch is -5 from core center, nowhere near the 5 line (witch is supposdely the standard from K2), so does that mean that they are to blame and that they have to replace my skis?

Ask them to remount them for free, if you told 'em to do it at -2 from center and they put them at standard then they should do it and probably will.

As long as you don't plan on changing bindings or remounting much more you'll be fine.

k2s have a whacky ass mounting gridline. midsole is wicked far back on those, and core center isnt even center. i found, those skis ski exceptionally well 1 cm further forward of core center. thats where i have mine at, and they rip. very well balanced. if its for more all mt, maybe a cm behind the core center mark.

Tbh if you didnt tell them were to mount it's your own fault - lesson learnt I hope. Shop techs can't read your mind you know....

Ok, So I talked to the shop and they will remount for free, but how will this affect my ski? I know that it will be weaker but how much weaker? And do they patch up the holes that they already drilled?

And yes I have learned my lesson.

They'll put plugs in the holes, so don't worry about that. Skis can be mounted quite a few times depending on how they're built as long as you don't have a lot of holes really close to each other. Usually people don't move the bindings around a lot so the general guideline is to do no more than 3 mounts on the same pair of skis.

yea they did that to my 04-05 PE's after telling them core center but now my PE's are my urban skis so i dont really care

dude get them remounted and like 2 back from true center, the holes will be far enough away from eachother to not really matter and -2 is mad dope. and by the way this is bobaburg on scott's comp so dont complain to him if you are somehow offended by this extremely contraversial thread, or my poor interperation of the spelling of contraversial.
