So I move in to this shitty place with 3 other guys, and they end up telling me rent was 1200 for a 3 bedroom. Now for those that live in SLC does that seem a bit high for a dumpy place?

does that include everything like all your utilites and such casue if it does thats less than what i pay for a two bedroom out in bozeman mt.

depends how big and nice the house is...where is it in salt lake and i will tell you if it is worth it

it was a 3 bedroom. small living room. nothing was included no heat no water, no trash removal. Nothing. Small bathroom. The kitchen was a shit hole, the tile on the floor was coming up, no dishwasher, broken stove. There was a basement with a washer and dryer, but the dryer didn't work. a small bedroom in the basement, that you had to walk through the dirty part to get to. most of the windows had holes around the edges so cold air came in the house a lot. Off street parking but had to share it with the neighbors. It was off 1300 south by the Bees.

prolly wanna get a place more east up towards the u you can get a place for that price thats really nice

ha nvm then i dont know shit about that area i was thinking more around university friendly areas cause i know a little bit about that but if it is really that shitty find a new house haha

That's my point. For a little more, you can get a better place. I'm guessing you didn't pick out the house, and if that's the case and you're already moved in/ on the lease... you're kinda fucked.

Our place is 2000 for a 5 bedroom, but we made a 6th bedroom that pays 250, so we all pay 350. 350-400 is pretty standard for a decent place in slc.

itll happen. dudes you're in are probably in the same situation i was last year. we had a place for 2100 a month and it was a shithole. i moved out to utah without ever really seeing the house beforehand and it sucked. luckily we found a shitton of people to move in so it drove the price down a bunch.

I paid 1100 for a nice 3 bedroom in Holladay. There was good access to PC and the Cottonwoods. It was next to jiffy lube, but we had a fenced in yard and the view of olympus was dope.

yea you are better off heading to jackson, or tahoe or colorado, i hear rent is rediculously cheap for large pristine houses.

get over it you arent going to move to town and find the best place to live right off the bat. you need to meet people and learn the area a bit. suffer through a few months at a shitty house and find a new one. meet some people that have rooms for rent in their hood.

my first year out here i lived in a 2 bedroom condominium that had a tiny kitchen, tiny bedroom and was surrounded by neighbors on all sides. my girlfriend and i split a room, and we had a sketchy roomate. rent was still like 400 a room.

or pitch a fuckin tent its summer in utah, not much is going to keep you out of a tent.

then pay the mortgage! but yeah up here in MN we pay 375 a month utilities included. most other houses round here are 325 before utilities.

on the living off campus board at my school there was a 2 bedroom for 2400 and a want to say a 3/4 bedroom for 3600, anywere within 30 mins from were im at your looking at 750-1000 (low end) for even a one bedroom

Depends where you go in Colorado. If you are in Denver you can get good deals on homes. If you go up toward Breck, Copper, Keystone, Vail or Beaver Creek you are looking at a lot of money. Room mate adds are asking for about $500 or more a month, just for room mates.
