I started a fire in my school

well basically i go to a boarding school in the uk and i finished my exams today. After the exams me and some friends got pissed and decided to light our books. After we lit it we realized that it was to near to the building but by this time it was out of control. So basically what happened is that it lit a room but not to badly, it just burt the curtains and a bit of the wall. The police and firemen were called to put it out. I've left for the summer and wont be back until septemberhas anybody else done this and what was their punishment.

a friend of mine did the same, after the exams, he burned his books and pissed on them, some weeks later we got our grades and turns out he has to do his year again... new books for him...... :)
i guess as far as punishment goes, this is considered arsin (spelling) so you'll either get fined or trial ....

So do they know it was you? and they just let you leave? I'm not sure what UK boarding school policy is but New York public schools would have had you arrested for at least four crimes then charged you $400 for the curtains.

My friend threw a chair at a class room door and basically put a descent scratch in the wood they charged her $350 to replace the door then they never replaced it they just patched it with wood filler and left it (3 years ago) so they basically ripped her off.
 
freshman year college somebody on our hall lit a pizza box on fire and threw it out the window. One of the RAs saw it and called the police. They were going to charge him with throwing a projectile missile because it was 4 floors up. They dropped the charges, but he was kicked off campus and got a strike with the school.
 
the police wernt to pissed and i had a flight to catch so i just left. My housemaster is pretty chill so he will do his best to get me off the hook.

on the last day of school someone pulled the fire alarm to get out like 5 minutes earlier. it ended up having 2 police cars and 4 or 5 firetrucks show up
 
One of my last days of school I called the cops because a teacher was parked in a handicapped spot.

I figured they would maybe tell him to move his car or give him a warning, because everyone know who he is and we live in a fairly small town, but no, he ends up with at $350 ticket.

My grade dropped 20% that day, no joke.

Also, the school is going to take "disciplinary actions". Which I'm really not too worried about, because I didn't technically break any laws....
 
I once punched trough a door in Bulgaria in a hotel....it was awesome but it did cost me 150 dollar while it was a shitty door...
 
Nah, AQA. its shit though, all the papers contain predominately common sense questions or shit that you haven't been taught.
 
someone in my dorm last year threw a coffee table out of a 9th floor window at 1am onto the pavement under it. I wasnt there but i guess it sounded like a gunshot. They all got kicked off campus.
 
we used to fill garbage bags with water and drop them out of my dorm window (third story) and try and hit people. we never got caught though.

^^^regarding the handicapped-parking teacher, how can you get in trouble for reporting a violation of a city ordinance?

you should complain to the school board about your grade, if reporting your teacher was the only thing that made your grade drop.

use the argument that in a setting with an implied code of conduct, what incentive is there for other students to report more serious crimes if they see you get penalized academically for reporting one as small as parking in a handicapped spot? (which is a douchebag move in the first place)

if that was me, i would fight that shit so hard. tip off the local paper or write a letter to the editor.

if you know a lawyer, have him/her contact the school and bring about the topic of a lawsuit for defamation of character, etc...

you should be able to get your grades restored and the teacher reprimanded for being such a dickhead as long as you are calm and well informed about your rights and there is not any other issues that led to the grade drop.
 
this thread made me think of the time in science class when we started a small fire in a desk and some guy threw a small chunk of weed in it. the incredibly smart teacher didnt even catch us either

I've talked to my friends dad, which is a cop. According to him I obviously didn't do anything illegal by reporting him, in fact I did the city a favor. So I won't get any real trouble.

And as far as the grade issue is concerned, I'm currently in the process of writing the district a letter. (Page 3 already) I don't give a shit if he gets in trouble with the school system, I think the fine was lesson enough, I just want my grade restored to what it should be.
 
Some kid at my school kept on lighting trash cans on fire this year. We ended up having ~6 fire drills in a month. Then they caught the kid and he only got suspended for 10 days, not very harsh if you ask me...
 
i wish i could do stupid stuff, buyt my high school only has about 1000 kids TOTAL. so every person in the school, teachers in all, know when i fights goin down and stop it b4 it even begins. harsh, i know
 
we have whole-school foodfights in the cafeteria on a regular basis, we spread the word but no teachers ever hear. just yesterday some guy went to hospial with a bleeding head cause a plate hit a light and the whole glass light cover thingy came down on his head

At my school all the teachers and staff know about senior ditch day every year before it happens because of facebook, and myspace, they have fake accounts and stuff.

Bet you wish you had just sold them back now.

As for punishment, it's a boarding school so they can set their own rules, to a degree. If there going to let you back, you got off lucky and prolly will just be on probation and such.

I am amazed they didn't boot you out to be honest, you got really f'ing lucky man.
