I SOLVED THE OIL/GAS PROBLEM

people also dont realize how much racing does to increase the efficiency of our street cars and improve the technology. racing is all about being efficient, the more efficient the car the faster it is. racing is where new fuels and new technologies are developed and tested. I would argue that all the forms of motorsports decrease the amount of pollution rather than add to it.

BUT I LIKE WEN MUH CURS GO FAST ARUND DE TRACK. I LOVE JESUS AND HE LIKES CURS SO TAKE THAT YOU BLACK LOVING HOMO.

That's why this will not work.

I read this thread title and all I could think of was the Always Sunny episode 'The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis'

lol

i have always had this idea too. But then what would the rednecks do? watch football?

i don't get why they have to do SO MANYYYY laps.. I mean couldn't they determine a winner in like 50 laps? what's the need for 200+ laps? soo boring

Great point. Anyone who flies on planes and preaches about saving gas/oil is somewhat of a hypocrite like it or not... even I admit to being a hypocrite on this one.

lololol

i stand by my opinion that nascar is fucking retarded. atleast in skiing or soccer people do shit thats cool and different. not drive in a fucking circle 500 damn times. and i know theres 'drafting' and those mexicans who change your tires and shit but come on. its retarded.

ill agree that it is for the most part, extremely boring to watch. but really, nascar fans could argue that skiing and soccer are boring and in nascar people are doing shit thats cool and different.

but to say that nascar is "fucking retarded" only shows your huge ignorance of the sport. there are very few things that are more demanding than being able to race at the top level of nascar.

I don't necessarily mind nascar, but comparing it's fuel consumption with planes makes no sense.

Panes transport millions of people, as well as millions of tons of goods. NASCAR does not. Without aircraft, businesses would have a much harder time doing almost everything. So that's pretty much a necessary use. Sports are not.

yea but if your goal is to save fuel and save the environment then motorsports is essentially insignificant in the grand scheme of things, compared to commercial airlines, transport ships and cars in the world nascar doesn't make any difference.

stopping nascar would be like those fat people who order like huge fastfood meals and think they can offset it by ordering a diet coke

yeah i know i was kinda just going off on a tangent i understand that theres more to nascar than one might think

but I would still rather watch any sort of racing over nascar. rally, f1, even drag racing lol and they dont even turn left. or right.

now by oil/ gas issue are you concerned about running out of these resources? or the whole ozone deal?

There is plenty of oil and natural gas on this planet, and yea the ozone's probably fucked. I hate NASCAR as much as the next NASCAR hating person, but its not all NASCARS fault. It all boils down to the fact that there's too many people on Earth, and we all pollute some how some way, bla bla bla, slowly killing the earth.

oh i agree, im a huge fan of pretty much all kinds of racing, but nascar is one of the most boring for me to watch. ill usually only watch 1 maybe 2 races a year, and usually the last 30 minutes just to see how it ends. and ill admit that it can get damn exciting when theres a good battle going on, but you can go a couple races in a row without a decent battle to watch. when compared to f1 or indycar, grand am etc.. where there is almost always an awesome fight going down somewhere in the field. nascar on road courses is fucking awesome though.

but still when it comes down to pure talent, in sports in general, the talent in nascar is way up there. people just have absolutely no idea what it takes to be competitive in a sport like that. its like picking the best 30 soccer players in the world, and having them all go one on one with each other at once. f1 is even more so, and thats why racing is the best sport in the world.

If you tried driving NASCAR you would most likely total your car in two laps. I hate NASCAR but at least I realize it's something that requires skill.

you havent made any valid points either. saying " oh you just turn left 1000 times" is like someone saying "a dub cork 12 isnt that hard, you just throw yourself off a jump" there is obviously much much more to each, and saying there isnt just shows ignorance.

and there is no doubt more talent in nascar than there is in skiing, just because of what it takes to make it to the top level. ive been involved in both racing (not nascar or any oval racing) and skiing for a long time, and i can honestly say that it takes a lot more to win a nascar, indycar etc... race than it does to win the x games. skiing just doesnt have near the same level of competition.

yes but this is a different type of distilled fuel that it not ever able to be used in cars or any other combustion engine. it is only able to be used in jet engines so it is not so much of a waste.

btw if you want to talk about waste, when airlines land they dump the fuel so if they crash they do not burst into flames.

They only dump fuel when its an emergency landing. Normally scheduled flights don't carry much extra fuel

My Idea:

Screw 80 hp, give them 8000.

For a large fee, allow spectators to launch rockets at cars.

Randomly force drivers to do shots.

Also, immediately before a pit stop, both the pit crew and driver must do some acid.

you sound like you know nothing about olympic teams so im done arguing with you you really know nothing about skiing at a top level.

This is definitely not true. Maybe in emergency situations as someone else mentioned, but definitely not on regular flights.

first of all im not talking about olympic skiing. which i do know quite a bit about, i spent about 5 years ski racing hoping to be in the olympics before i found park skiing. and yes there is a lot of talent and a lot of competition in the olympics, far more than in freestyle skiing. but still not quite at the level you see in nascar, which you have proven to me that you know nothing about.

atleast i am very involved in both and both are equal passions of mine. i feel like i can make a pretty good judgement on the levels of competition in both.

skiing is not based around competition, especially freeskiing, the average pro skier spends most of their time developing in skiing, fucking around for the most part. then maybe gets serious about competing, and trains a lot learning new tricks enters a couple competitions to begin with. and by the time they are x games material, their season still is maybe 80% competing, 20% just skiing/having fun.

racing, from the day you start, you are competing, and unlike skiing you're not by yourself, your racing against your competitors at the same time. and from the start, even 10 year olds in karts. the competition is very tough, just to make it into the top level of motorsports, nascar, indycar, f1 etc... you really have to be one of if not the best from the moment you start and through each step of the ladder. then you may be good enough to even compete in the top level. what it takes to win at that level is insane.

skiing would still be skiing without the competition, its more about pushing yourself than beating the next guy. racing would be nothing if it werent for the competition, thats all its about from the moment you start. not saying one is better than the other. they both have their highs and lows. the competition is one of racings highs.

hahahahahaha 5 year prob as ussa not the us or olympic tam and what were you like 16 did you even do any strings know what strings are or know what fis and point system works you need to year and year of training. so clearly you know nothing about racing

This. I never liked NASCAR that much. But working around it makes you realize that these guys train super hard. You should see the gym on race weekend Plus they loose 7 pounds a race on average. Also when you see a car go buy at the Daytona international speedway at 200 mph and they are three wide and less then a foot from each other it makes you think that they have some skill. But of course the best of the race is the big crash

agree to a point, if it is too short who ever places highest on the starting grid wins, but damn some of those races are boring.

and jus so everyone knows nascar now uses E85 ethanol, they are trying to do their part.

you will never get rid of nascar it is one of the biggest sports in the world, the Daytona 500 being the most watched sporting event a few years in a row now, also packs around 150,000 in the grandstands plus the suites plus the hospitality areas, plus the infield. there are a shit ton of fans.

you sound about as ignorant as the slack jawed banjo playing sister fucking rednecks that watch nascar.

year really because it partly true but not for that reason. they don't dump it they speed up in case something gets on the landing and they have to pull up again.
