Goddamnit, I want my money back from Pop Yer Bottlez. The whole movie is 28 minutes long, and less than half of that is skiing. The rest of it is these scenes with the skiers doing...acting...god...just being immature and stupid, I guess that's the best way to put it. Arent Tanner and CR like 21 years old now? Havent they grown out of their phase of trying to impress people?

I don't know how some of you can compare this movie to surf/snowboard/wakeboard/skate movies. Those movies feature REAL lifestyle clips and thoughtful interludes between the action. They have lifestyle clips in their movies to show you what the athletes are like as people. Thats NOT what Tanner and crew did here. They created these scenes that are ridiculous, pouring chamgagne on girls in clubs, shooting dice in alleys, etc. etc. Its sad that this the image skiing gives off, Mike Douglas was right in criticizing the new "gansta" fad a few years ago. It makes it difficult for other sports to take skiing seriously when our best athletes are THIS egocentric. Its like they cant relax or be themselves, they care so much about what other people think of them.

I hope that someday we will have a Robotfood ski movie, one where this idiocy and immaturity is replaced by selfconfidence and a good representation of who these guys are. What bullshit, I'm sure Tanner, CR, Boolio are just the biggest thugs out there, dropping G's everywhere and partying like rockstars. Jesus Christ, they are wealthy white kids from rich mountain towns. Grow up, you arent the center of the universe. And you failed in your ultimate goal, instead of wanting to be you, myself and all my friends now dislike you even more. Hahaha, my roomate is a snowboarder and he was laughing his ass off watching this movie.
 
Thank you for saying exactly what i have been thinking for years. Growing up in the "Hood" is really difficult, drive by's slangin rock and killin wiggaz is how Tanner and CR spend their time. They really need to get their shit together, and need a serious red neck stompin. Watch the movie "malibu's most wanted" for a true look into the depths of these "gangsta" athletes.
 
well said, why can't we have a ski movie like robotfoods?a movie where a bunch of pros are just out having fun, were they can throw dumb little tricks but still make it look cool just cause you know exactly how much fun they are having. I watch afterlame as much as i watch all my other films just because i like the attitude so much, you watch real people being real people expect capable to throw down amazing snowboard tricks. When will skiing hit this stage?
 
i loved 11th hours just for that reason. the riding is so dopenasty, and you can see just how much fun they're having out on the hill. sometimes they even do little stupid jibs but it's dope cuz they're having fun. it's a crew i could actually see myself riding and chilling with, rather than tanner and company spraying champagne on bitches in the club.
 
Yeah one shot of Tanner really has a lot to do with the quality of a movie.

Even as far as straight-up ski porn is concerned, War is ten times better than PYB.
 
Maybe if Tanner and CR did all those things you want them to it might make them fake. And you know how we all hate fake people! *kekekekeke*
 
I agree sort of. I am tired of the mad-niggerish steeze going on. I like the urban influence in the mountain culture.. but within reason. I like the baggy clothes, the hip hop... but i can do without the hoes and 'Lacs slammed on 24's. Be real, come on.

Those dudes (tanner, CR) shred like you can't believe. But, sadly enough, no matter what skiers do... they are just a step behind snowboarding. You can't compare a single ski movie last year with Chulksmack. YOu just can't.
 
hmm, don't give snowboarding so much credit. have you ever seen MFM's actaul rap video in his part? way worse then anything tanner's ever done...
 
i think you should not care. there are snowboard movies just like pop yer bottlez (one love), skate movies like it..its just what these people want to do.

whiteshine or TBC might be more your style, but thats just you. let em do what they want.
 
Nothing nears Robotfood. Thats because those borders had their fame really and are over it. Tanner is good. But won't be the reigning god of skiing much longer anyway. I mean seriosuly I see tanner in the magazines and thats all I need I can't stand watching him be gangsta in his videos, He's from where I live, I leaned out my window and shot the neighbors cow with my 22 pistol that I keep by my work jeans. No ggangsters here.
 
I don't get all of the hate about Pop Yer Bottlez...it seems like a really solid movie, some of the best riding of the year, and if you think it's too "gangsta" go watch Moment of Truth by Finger on da Trigger Productions. It isn't half as gangsta as that.
 
whatch ski movie 1, JT Holmes' rap made me want to blow my brains out, watched it with a guy in les 2 alpes (a snowboarder), after telling him ski movies were king. i felt dumb...

i seriously have to agree with this, the real quality movies, would have sick clips following them and how they live there life, such as White Shine! such a sick movie it makes u feel like ur a part of it...think about all the 12 year olds seeing kye peterson getting molested by some 20 year old chick in a Rest room...what a mother fuckin image skiing has....the perception is so stupid, and i get ragged on by all my friends cuz of these antics
 
i wont be impressed unless someone in that video actually kills someone, then i'll know its real. straight up
 
the skiing is really good, but the whole premise of the movie is garbage. i mean, a club scene? come on. yes, going to clubs is fun, but it has fuck-all to do with skiing in any way. they're just trying to give themselves an image, and it's not working in their favor.

on a side note, whoever was in charge of editing tanner rainevilles part fucked up. a red letterbox the whole time? tracers following him? motherfucking flowers/snowflakes covering the entire fucking screen?!? i get that he was supposed to be fucked up, but leave that shit out of his actual skiing.

i didnt personally like it. it didnt have a good overall premise, and i could have forgiven that if the riding was really good, but it isnt better than any other movie. plus rainville's part made me want to delete flash MX off of my computer.
 
that whole style is so ridiculous, ive never liked tanner - this just fuels the fire...

its way better just to be chill about everything, i like pollard, he seems pretty chill
 
compared to most of the othebr movies this year (whiteshine, safety meeting, and booter crunk which all sucked and were boring) pyb actually had good skiing and non stop action, and it was fun to watch, i would rather see a 1/2 hour ski vid with gangsters than a whole batch of crappy movies with people trying to be "artistic" which usually translates into a boring yawn fest
 
tanner never grew out of the stage of impressing people cus he missed like all of high school. he turned pro at like 15, and his family moved because of it. he was homeschooled. alot of maturity oddly enough comes from high school. so he missed that. he never really grew up all the way.

The Bigger Picture put out a cool movie, if you dont like it, cool, you don't like it. I do, and a lot of others do.

I dont really give a fuck what Tanner and CR do in their movies but its kinda gay if the whole movie is only 28 minutes long.

Everybody has gotta stop hating on everybody else, we are all skiers. But we dont have to agree on everything.

dude ur perception is very wrong, its fine that u like it, but there is no way it is more creative than whiteshine...which was cool as far as i thought, maybe not showing chads gap every 30 seconds is deff nice! but besides that its friendly, and shows you really more about the person riding, not some d-bag pro gettin crunk in the club, whiteshine portrays real skiers, loving wat they do for skiing, not for money, or sex, or drugs
