So, I dont know if its just me, but every time August rolls around, I get stupid psyched for winter.. just out of nofuckingwhere. I will start busting out all my ski movies and flat out torture myself to death.

I think it has to do with the fact that in June and July, I can actually survive knowing theres potentially very good amounts of snow still surviving up in Oregon and BC... but come August, it hasnt snowed in at least 3 months, school is coming back, and winter seems as deads as fuck - therefore leading me to be looking forward to the upcoming winter EVEN MORE.

This year, sucks all the more. I have spent a LOT of time in Tahoe this summer, and the mountaintops are nearly snowless - a semi-rare sight for tahoe, even in August - Whats worse is I just recently got a job at a seriously LEGIT ski shop, and we are just starting to get all the new 2008 stuff in. I'm opening the hundreds of boxes of the new equip, and its killing me... seeing all the new stuff WAAAY before it even goes on sale or is seen in the gear guides of magazines is insane. (hellbents, EP Pros, and WALLS!! OH MY!)

I guess I'll just have to keep reminding myself that in a little over 2 months, it will be Halloween, and we MIGHT have enough snow to feed my craving...

Sorry for the life story... I'm just in distress like pretty much everyone else on here...

i get it too, this years the worst tho. my senior year starts, then foreign exchange girl comes from france for a week, then i start skiing, then i go to utah, then i go to france for my half of the exchange, and then senior year is over, then i go to australia. then college starts

atleast you live near skiing. you could hike and play in the snow or drive north. For me theres no option other than a plane ticket and stuff.

Yeah, I have watched all of my ski movies a million times just this month. It is killing me....but disc golf is a good way to get up in the mountains and enjoy your self. It takes the edge off a little bit.

this is what i like to call the midyear crisis. everyone gets this around this time. i just got it so to deal with it a bought my snow pants for this year and ive been making ski hats like crazy to go with my new outfit its insane. and of course im watching ski movies while im making hats.

dude! exactly what I call it haha.

I'm taking the edge off by running around my place in my ski gear. it works up a sweat a lot faster this time of year... wonder why :p

At least all you fucks haven't blown your knees twice in a row. Yay acl surgery for the second time next month. I haven't skiied since last may and wont until next fall probably. But I'm sure there are people in much worse situations, at least I'm still alive and not paralyzed or in a coma.

haha its all good. i was wearing my pants boots and clicked into my skis the other nite inventing grabs and watching ski movies. were all obssessed.

this fall means the fall that is like 2 months away. Next fall is the one that's 14 months away. Just like last may means the one that was 16 months ago. I'm pretty sure the majority of NS is not on a 30 month break from skiing.

it has poured all day, overcast, and 61 degrees. this type of days make me want to shoot myself.

i can ski in like 4 months. neat

yeah I know how it is, and it's even worse for me this year since my bike got stolen in whistler last month, so I have nothing to do exept work and watch ski vids...

i felt exactly the same way when the glacier shut. I was also only 2 hours away from it, but was too busy to go.

Yay for a site where obsessed people can talk with obsessed people!

It sucks so bad. I had a little summer break down today at dinner I just started yelling "I CANT WAIT FOR WINTER" and then just kept on eating. It sucks a lot cause im on the east coast and my season doesn't start until end of december. :(

yah, i just got hit by the ski virus not long ago when I went in to my local ski shop (which doubles as a bike shop in summer) to buy a new crank arm for my bike and I noticed they had some ski movies on sale...so I just had to get one and ever since I have been plannin all the years ski trips and just today i built a drop in for the flat-down-flat summer session that will be held at my place soon...woot.. can't wait to ski this season!

lemme see.. im skiing tomorrow and the next day.. and the day after that

and i dont have to go to any kind of school until fall 2008

"This year, sucks all the more. I have spent a LOT of time in Tahoe"

why dont you read that statment and deleat this thread

You forgot the next two words r.tard - "THIS SUMMER."

Skiing is pretty shitty in tahoe during the summer, my friend...

and I was only saying that because I was making reference to how little snow is up there and how shitty last season was for Tahoe. Theres like zero snow up there, even on the tops of the highest peaks there is no snow where even during an average september there would be snow...

Why dont you READ the WHOLE statement before you start BSing bro.
