So i'm 15, turning 16 in three months, and bought my car a little while back. seeing as i only have a "15 year old" job (2 actually) i couldn't really go high roller on the quality of car so i got one that ... worked. Well as i was inspecting it and cleaning it (and installing a brand new engine! yay!) i realized that the previous owner left me a little suprise. A Broken Stereo!.. seeing as i've never owned a car/ car stereo (obviously) i don't really know what i'm looking at when i go a googlin. I'm looking for something around 100 maybe higher that does each of the following

* Plays CD's (duh)

*Quality (Won't break on me)

*has an Ipod/USB port to play my ipod

*connects to my 2000 Isuzu Rodeo ( I don't really know if car matters or not)

* and any other obvious, maybe overlooked, features i forgot to mention

The Karmaz go to the legit answers / links / being awesome!

thank you

alright. thank you alot (had you at 10/10 .. who knew).. i will go check out ebay and probably compile 1 big PM with the few things i found and your input on them.

anyone else possibly?

i dont know anything about that stuff, but i say go to a car shop, ask your questions and/or anything else you should know. Then ask the guy/girl what he/she would reccomend, then try to find that stereo used on ebay/kijiji :P.

Decks are measured in "DINs" you will need to know if its a 1 1.5 (aka euro din) or a 2 this is really the only thing you need to know for a late model common car. Go here http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/autoinfo/autoinfo.asp?lp=%2fapp%2fCar%2fMyCar.aspx fill everything out for you car (SUV whatever) look at all of the available decks, mine needed an adapter for my ipod. Get all of the part numbers (manufacturer's # no store #). This website is way over priced but it's the best for searching. Bring these numbers either to a local stereo guy/shop or ebay. Never buy a used deck on ebay imo. and if the local guy is close on price go with him you'll have someone to go to if you have an issue rather than dealing with ebay claims.

I'll post a vid of my truck sometime.

you can also PM me with any questions that you might have about that stuff i am pretty knowledgeable about that stuff

-- First of I want to apologize to Jake C your post wasn't up when I started typing--
^^ What don't you understand? I dint say cruthfield wasn't legit they are, but you can find priced cheaper, easily.
As far as the adapter, why not? Mine works perfect I don't understand the issue.
Used electronics are something to be careful with, My opinion is biassed because I have been screwed through ebay a few times.

its how big the part is where your stock radio is.... like if its 6 inches its a double din, and then 3 inches its single and the like 4.5 inches its a 1.5 din

Little guy over corporate FTW

My audio guy works out of a single bay garage, he takes cash only, and his catalogue is crutchfield.com. I get way better service than best buy could ever think of, and lower prices. Plus your money is going local instead of to a huge company.

^^Thanks for the explanation on the DINs
