Okay, i've just about finished my final paper and just figured I would put some opinions in there to add some length and hopefully substance! Rather than just bullshit a bunch of opinions I figured I would go about trying to actually get some.

I just need your opinion on whether or not America will regret capital punishment in 60+ years and why.

+k for legit answers and thanks in advance to all that help!

No. I say this based on past precedent, which is a pretty large determining factor for any answer to this question. We've been "punishing" citizens for crimes since the dawn of America as it's own independent civilization and prior to that under British rule. Even further back from than we learned capital punishment from the British when it was under the rule of Kings, Ghangis Khan practiced a crude form of this, you get my point... So clearly, as history suggests, capital punishment has been around for a long time and is not going anywhere in the future. 65% of Americans were in support of Capital Punishment in a 2001 gallup poll, lexis-nexis.com. We would need an ideological reorientation in order to reverse such substantially supportive numbers, and this is not going to come in the next 60 years.
Hope that helps!

I think that capital punishment is a waste of lives. I think we should give the the convicted the choice between death and being used to test new life saving medicines. People are mainly sentenced to death for killing others, now with this option they could help save lives by testing new medicines.
