I need tips for photo

hey, i'm new in photography and i just got a canon powershot A95 and i need some tips for taking good photo

for example, i heard that shutter speed is important...what does it change ?? how i should set it ???

i'm new in photography

thanks

wow.... um, wow... id like to say wow... if you dont know, then ask people in person. you sound completly inexpirienced. my suggestion is to return that camera, go to a pawn shop, but an old minolta or pentax and start shooting on that. that will get you into the basics easier, and more appropraitly.

go take classes, its a lot more complicated than what you think. i had to teach myself, and im not taht good. i know my way around a camera more than most, but still. go to a local highschool or tech college and take classes

Taking good photos isn't just "change the shutter speed and VOILA perfect exposure, lighting, composition and subject matter.

You need to have/develop an artistic eye, you need to understand lighting and exposure and how to compose a picture to make it worthwhile to look at.

I think good lighting can make up for mediocre composition.

Seriously.... The best thing to do is read the user manual first cover to cover. Usually cameras will come with a little booklet explaining the basics like difference b/w shutter speeds, appeature, and so on. I am sure the manufacture produces something, check there website. If you can find anything, go here:

http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/noprint/D100_en_noprint.pdf

This is Nikon's user manual for the D100, although many things won't apply, you will get an idea about how to do things.

I was in your boat 6 months ago and that is how I started.

Good Luck

Read the manual cover to cover first, then either go take classes or buy a photo book, or both.
