I need the scoop on gore and whiteface

we're thinking of getting a lakehouse upstate, can i get some info on Gore and Whiteface, snowfall? park? difficulty? i heard something about the slides on whiteface, how steep/hard are they, thanx
 
i havent been to whiteface or gore, but by looking at their site and checking out all their stuff, i would definitely rather go to whiteface
 
paradox lake, near scroon lake, kinda near ticondaroga, itd be a summer and ski house so i wanted to check out what skiing could be done their
 
gore is ok..i'm not too sure about their park. i'm usually in the trees. and it gets really crowded on the weekends. whiteface (iceface) has the slides but if the weather is shitty, which it has been the past few seasons, they'll stay closed. good luck
 
I have riden the slides twice and are alot of fun but they were closed 5 years in a row definatly great to ski and quite dificult but well worth it. lake placid is definatly a nice place to get a camp tho verry nice town area
 
gore has a couple good runs up at the top of the mountain. not much of a park at all unless you are beginner to intermediate level.
 
Gore isn't the place you want to go to ski park. They have the Gully which is Okey just to tool around in, but does get boring pretty fast. The mountain isn't to bad if you know where to ski. The trees can be decent when there is enough snow and you are in the right place.
 
gore sucks, whiteface can be awesome sometimes. the end. slides opened this winter, they are dank.
 
last year i got first run on the slides and was riding waist deep pow, yeah its worth it. Whitefaces park should be getting a lot better then it has been with more rails comming i guess. The jumps there are always good, chances of a moved park, but of the two whiteface is probly better. oh yeah for the (iceface) name it does get icy but usually it isnt to bad some trails will be one giant sheet but it doesnt happen that often
 
Gore is a real Family oriented nountain too, tons of lessons and people who are learing runnin all over the mountain. Whiteface is probably a better mountain, it just gets so icey alot.
