I need some job help.

My last job was in the grill of Mc Donalds and I hated it. I quit that last winter and now comming up to the start of the new school year I think it would be a prime time to get a job because a lot of people are leaving for school. So I checked out my options and it comes down to this:

Option 1: Try to get hired at pizza hut as a waiter. I've heard tips can double your wages, but I would need to be really outgoing which I don't know if I can be all the time. Also the job seems pretty easy.

Option 2: Get hired at walmart. I would get a discount in the store and working would be easy. Plus I've heard you get more than minimum wage start which is nice.

Option 3: Work at a convenience store. My dad knows the owner so getting the job wouldn't be hard but it would be really boring.

These are the best options I could come up with in my small town so if anyone has worked in any of these places just tell me if you would reccomend your job or not and I'll give ++K for the help.

Thanks.

I wouldn't work during school unless you have to. All of those jobs suck ass, and as much as waiters would like to tell you they make a lot of money when they actually sit down and calculate their hourly wadge they are usually around minimal wadge.

If I were you I would take a life guarding class and apply at the local indoor pool.

No, usually waiters get a reduced wadge, in most cases just enough to cover taxes, and their entire salary comes from tips.

yup yup.. my friend who works at a restaurant as a waiter makes $4.50 an hour. He does get a lot of tips though mainly because it's really well known around the county and it's a family based business. Unlike, pizza hut.

or work somewhere that will actually gain something. Work for a carpenter or at a fabrication shop.

Yea you usually get like 3.00 for being a waiter hourly (may of gone up) then you get tips, if there is bus person you may have to tip them out to. Also when you file taxes you need to file how much you made in tips and you get taxed on them.

Walmart sounds like the best bet. I am not a huge fan of their ethics though. Do you have a target close by, I heard they pay well too.

Home depot and Lowes pay well from what I hear problem is they do a drug test don't know if you smoke or whatever.

What other places are in your home town. I worked at a Supermarket for a while when I was highschool and before I graduated college, I loved it.

Good luck finding a job!

i live in a really small town. the closest thing we have to a lowes or home hardware is a kent and I think i'm too young to work there. walmart is the only store like it here so yeah i think i'll go apply and see what happens.
