so two weeks to do sydney melbourne and the outback isnt reallyyyy long enough.
i cant speak for melbourne. but theres a few cool things to do in sydney. probably a lot more then i realise but living here all your life you dont really notice the touristy stuff.
id say youd want like 4 days in sydney and melbourne and the rest on the outback. its gonna take you a day to drive between the two cities and then anywhere from like 12hours to a couple of days to drive anywhere worth going in the outback from there. australia is big.
sydney youre looking at kings cross and oxford st for nightlife. world bar in the cross on a wednesday. kit & kaboodle, world bar or kings cross hotel for a saturday night. oxford arts on oxford st on a saturday (lots of cool places on this strip that are usually all good on a saturday night, go wherever). scubar or sidebar are two cool back packers bars that go alright for a monday night, probably your best bet for a monday night out. hugos in manly for slightly more expensive bar on a saturday night. cargo bar in darling harbour on a saturday night is good. these are all pretty much clubs besides hugos.
my friend owns a bar called opera bar, i definitely recommend going during the day or on any night. it is right on the harbour under the opera house. great food and drinks. bit pricey but definitely worth it. this is the view
not really sure activities wise. probably be a bit too cold for the beach, but the two big touristy ones are manly and bondi. if the weathers good i would be going to freshwater beach or tamarama. both are right next to the other beaches respectively but are much less touristy and more for locals than the others. manly is north of the bridge but you can get a ferry from the city. bondi is pretty easy to get to from the city.
briddgeclimb would be worth doing. you get to climb up the bridge. obviously going to be a highlight. there is also a glass bottom walk on the top of the centrepoint tower. pitt st mall (westfield) is good for shopping, about 2 mins from wynyard station in the city. paddys markets near central is a big marketplace. lots of boutique shops around, you can google that.
there are lots of really cool little bars in The Rocks area of the city, which is next to ciruclar quay and kinda right under the bridge. definitely good for a bar crawl.
darling harbour is nice to walk around, with a maritime museum and a a really big imax. there is also the powerhouse museum which is usually good but i havent been in a few years.
the blue mountains and three sisters is a pretty is only a couple hours out of sydney.
for the outback youre main ones are kakadu national park which is in the northern territory. im sure you can find it on a map but its fucking like the complete opposite side of sydney and melbourne. lots of crocs up there.
Uluru or ayers rock is literally in the middle of australia and is going to take a few days to drive out to aswell.
great barrier reef near cairns is also a couple days drive north from sydney. it is on the far north part of the east coast.
the gold coast is about a days drive north from sydney, in the middle of cairns and sydney. lots of parties and good clubs there. pretty much a city built around partying on the beach.
pacha is held every saturday night at ivy which is just outside wynyard station. tickets can sometimes be $25-45 but is one of the best club experiences you will get. definitely recommend that over any other sydney club. you will not regret it. also have some fairly big names play there which is standard pacha.
wont be enough snow to ski on then. youve kinda come at a pretty awkward time. its not summer or winter so it kinda limits what you can do.
