1005258.jpegHey guys! I built a backyard setup but unfortunately it didn’t turn out as good as I wanted. Something’s off and I’m not sure what. I feel like at the beginning there is much speed but before the kicker it kinda stops. Also it feels like everything is happening super guickly and it’s really hard to focus and prepare before the kicker. I think that the problem might lie in the wrong angle and that there is almost no flat part before the kicker. Might this be true or if not does anyone know what to do? And can anybody think of a easier way to fix this than to take almost everything apart? Otherwise it would be a huge fix and I’m trying to find a way that wouldn’t take so much time.

The transition from going down hill to uphill is way too quick. I suggest basically cutting it in half and adding a hood 3-5 feet of transition between the two sections.

Looks like you are using 2 different materials. The speed could change when you go from one to the other. And that’s kind of how summer setups are, you don’t get much setup time but youll get used to it

The lip is too steep just cut off the last 6-12 inches of takeoff and youll be good. You not need a rainbow-esque kicker like that to get on to rails

What about making the platform shorter?

my summer setup which isn’t done but should work has a few feet of flat which worked quite well time wise in the winter but it’s also quite a bit different because i have a natural slope/hill + drop in so it’s probably 30 feet long including the rail. PM me i’ll send you some pictures later when i get out of bed

Yea you could lessen the steepness of the lip or you could put a ski length flat bottom before the lip. You would lose more speed with the flat bottom but maybe you want less speed and more setup time

yes, that’s why i’m thinking of making the drop in more steep and then adding the flat part, because i think that when i’d just add the flat part and leave the drop in the same, then i’d run out of speed.

Do you have another 4ft of turf material? the flat bottom would probably solve the problem

Honestly it would make a huge difference if you made the drop in a few feet taller. Then you could make the inrun steeper and try to make the lip not as steep. Flatter lips suck
