is this quote at all any bit "depressing" or telling yourself you aren't good enough ?

yes it's from blow, and a few people tried to argue with me, your opinion ?

i vote not depressing at all.
 
Eh it depends. I think it leans to 'Im not good enough' cause its basically saying "I want to do something, but I cant"
 
well depressing is pretty relative to the person, so I'd say that's a stupid argument. However I don't find it depressing because it's basically describing some characteristics of a goal. You want more than you have now. If you didn't want anything higher than what you can achieve, I would find that more depressing.

Yeah, Im pretty sure the context its used in is when youre at the top and cant go any further.

i feel that it means although you may not be good at something it doesn't matter because you have the ambition to get to the point where you want to be.

ambition is everything, if you have ambition you can become the best. if you have talent well you should have the ambition to strive for more.
 
it's what you make of it.

same could be said by a kid who tried out for a triple A team from house league. the dude showed heart, but he lacked the skill.

you could say that self realization is depressing. nothing wrong with aiming high though. you don't get better by not being ambitious.

what the person chooses to do after making a statement like that is what decides if it's depressing or not.
 
Yes, exactly what i first thought of when I read that. Although I still don't agree that ambition will get you to the same place as talent, you will just gain more respect (My opinion).
