do you cross them like an X over your shoulders? they do suck if you just put each strap on the side it's on.

yeah I cross them over my shoulders, but they always come undone on the waist no matter how hard I tie them, and they always give me a rash on my shoulder. Also they're a pain in the ass to adjust
