I could google this but it'll take longer to find on there than it would on NS.
So, I was wondering how you blend pictures together and then take that picture and apply it to the background of text.
This is a project for American History and we need artwork for the front cover. I thought it would be cool to blend a bunch of pictures representing the 50's and have it fill in "50's"
Any help is appreciated. +K

Use the magic wand tool, or the magnetic lasso tool, to select what you need to keep. Then, up top at your menu(like where file, edit, etc are), click Select>Inverse. Press delete.

Now make a new layer, and place your other image into it. Repeat as necessary.

The order your layers are in is important- those on top of the list will be on top of the picture, and vice versa.

When you are done, click "save as". Make sure you save it as a .jpeg file, as you need photoshop to view the standard .psd file.

Thanks dude, but not really what I was talking about. I was talking about having images fade from one to another

you could use the blend or smudge tool, its on the toolbar. It might be what you are talking about

This. Or, just do what I said before, and put a edge fade layer effect on each layer. The definable sides of each picture (that is, where you selected and deleted) will fade into transparency, depending on how big a radius you allot for it. It's tough to explain without photoshop open and you standing next to me, so I won't try *too* much harder.
