I think the one tip that I would have for photography is to make sure that you have enough light for what you are shooting, otherwise your pictures are not going to come out well at all.

use the rule of thirds, make sure you get an interesting angle, and use lines and depth to drag people's eyes to the focus of your picture

the rule of thirds is what i swear by. it will make any and all of your pictures turn out better

Generally with something like skiing you want to show the whole feature so you can get a better idea of what is actually going on. Like on that rail I'd like to see the end of the rail, and on the jump I'd like to at least see the lip or lip and knuckle.

Don't just think about the skier, look around at the whole scene and put a whole picture together.
