I'm going to be honest here. Some people who buy things make themselves believe things are better than they are. Honestly, Skullcandy is not the best brand to buy for sound quality. I had the first gen recruits and skullcandies. The recruits were awesome, just decided to die this week

after a great life. haha. best headphones for skiing imo. They fit on your head over your hat and goggles perfectly, and be removed in a second, just great headphones.
The Skullcrushers however, sucked. They fell off my head skiing, so I never took them to the hill. I wore them around the house sometimes and with my ipod. They aren't practical, they don't look good wearing them places imo, the batteries run out on the woofers very fast (go for rechargables), and they don't sound that good. Sure, they have alot of bass, but it's too much bass for even rap. Besides the bass, the rest of the sound spectrum was flat and too quiet, and if you played it without turning on the fake subwoofers inside the headphones, it sounds worse than dollar store headphones. Like cranking a subwoofer in your car for extendended periods of time, I even used to get headaches from listening to them for too long because of the crazy vibrations going on right next to your ear.
Basically, if you want good headphones just for wearing around, don't go skullcandy. Go Sony, or Phillips, or basically any other big name brand. I bought the $60 Grado SR60s, best headphones under $100 bucks... they don't look like skullcandies, but they perform 1000x's better. If you're stuck on Skullcandies, get the Hesh, louder, a bit clearer, and it doesnt need batteries.
