Practicing on trampoline or diving board is a really good idea. It'll help you to develop air sense and teach you how to control your rotations (using your arms, tucking to spin faster, stretching out to slow it down). Once you get that dialed, it's a lot easier on snow. My first flips, front and back, i under rotated. The falls didn't hurt too bad, mostly i just got winded and a little bruised. After that though, i got it figured out. g'luck

don't worry cryss, i know you will get it, you have practiced and it will come naturally for you, i know you can do it.

I guess the best way i can explain it would be start your rotation right after you pop off the lip of the jump, so you go into the jump hit the lip pop then throw your trick, works for me?

If your monkey was misbehaving, would you spank it?

wait for pow!!!!

since theyr is almost no snow where you ski, come to my hill!!!

seriously, you have to commit and since you praticed on a tramp, it should comes naturally.

yeah i can land backflips and then the other day i tried a front, they are hard I landed on my head, it didnt hurt cause it was powder though.

Ok first suggestion. You of course need to be topless/drunk because most of us know that you can only do 'em that way. Then just go for it. Don't worry we'll both have bruised faces this season.

yea i just did my first backflip this weekend it was pretty damn awesome... it tooke me like 4 tries but i allways over-rotated so on the 5th attempt the guy told me not to swing my arms tooo much ... so i tried it and landed it perfectly ... bit then again later the day i threw the thing too early and hit my head on the jump, stalled my rotation and face planted right into the icy man made snow... o well... it also works when while you go up to the jump you dont think about it too much... jsut hit it and throw it...

my fear is landing on my head or breaking something, i wanna try them later on, but i dont have a tramp and never tried it on one, and throwing them into water isnt hard because there is no fear of landing and getting hurt, but would you suggest just hucking and hoping itll work out, or should i be able to throw them on a tramp, cause itd be scary for me to go on a tramp and throw them because i never really done trampin

just don't think...thats the trick...doin front flip or back flips is really a stupid thing to do. the more you think, the more doubts you have, the least chances you have of achieving succes.

its really hard for a girl to achieve that since your species is WAY more intelligent then us.

but really, don't think about it, huck yourself, your brain am is a powerfull tool, let it work,

it will calculate everything by itself

yeah don't think but make sure it is a powder day and you can't get hurt, well i guess you could

isnt it hard to do a frontflip on skis since like you try to go forward but your skis kinda stop you? or is that not really a problem at all

you don't actually start front flipping untill your skis are about to leave the snow.

Just commit and throw your head back, bring those knees up reel quick and if you over rotate you wont get injured too bad. And you definitly dont need to be able too do it on the tramp.it just helps

New Zealand is getting a super pipe next year YAY!!!!!

You dont need to be able to do tricks on a tramp before you hit the snow. I always kill myself throwin backs on tramps but on snow it wasnt a prob. You should know the rotation, try it somewhere, diving board, one of those gymnastic pits and what not. I hucked gainers on the diving board for 2 months before I tried it on snow. When it came time to do it on snow it was seriously less scary then a 360 since I had the rotation down. Frontflips arent too hard, think of it this way: imagine a bar about chest height right in front of you just as you pop off the lip, try and go up and over that imaginary bar, not thru it.

i found that front flips were way easier than backflips for me, everyone else tells me different, but thats how it was for me

I think a good thing to do is image the trick, see yourself doing it before you actually do it. I think about my tricks before i start going on the inrun for the jump, but once you get going just know what you have to do, and dont think about it too much before the jump- especially dont think about whether or not you are gonna land it or not. And stay commited once youve thrown it, keep rotating or you might land right on your head.

The imaging thing works the best though. Just see yourself doing exactly what you want to do and itll work out. This really worked for me when i learnt 270s to a rail. I was scared of landing and catching an edge to a head smack on to the rail, but it all eventually worked out.

man I was psyched to try them again this season until I read about all you guys landing on your heads!
