I need some help..Our terrain parks are going to go downhill at our mountain. Management is totally not getting the picture. So anyways,

Does anybody have any statistics showing that a lot of the new riders are becoming involved in the park scene. Or that parks are the future or anything like that.

Parks are the future or a lot of it and it is hard to come up with numbers, but if anyone can direct any information to me that would be great. We have a meeting on Wednesday with management about the parks and its current location at our mountain.

I need some information quick to show why terrain parks need to be GOOD instead of crappy little baby parks all over the mountain...

idk any statistics but roundtop should get rid of the mini pipe and just make icubator bigger so there are more rails and it will be easier to ride j bar instead of hiking

matt you should focus on what BB has done and how in a couple of years they have gone from a decent "year round vacation" complex style place into a destination resort for the entire east coast, all because of their park.
Also, along those lines, show how because of BB's success, peak resorts designated a major part of Mt. Snow entirely to park.
And lastly, look at whitetail and what they are trying to do with that new double chair (shitty placement if you ask me, should run from the base up to the top of the park). They realize that the terrain Park is becoming a major draw for a lot of customers.
Lastly, look at how fucked up liberty's park has become (who even knows whats going on. i don't even think they have a park manager yet?), and how you're numbers will increase if you can pull the ghettysburg/Hagerstown crowd up to RT by promising a good park.
But, no matter what, they will be resistant, because roundtop does not cater to the pass holder, as many of the people who ride park are. They still believe that to make money, they need the first time skiers, who will buy some sort of packaged deal with food lessons, and rentals.

Good luck, and get the fuck out of Pennsylvania.

go to my picture gallery and check out the lay out for the small park at Squaw.

It is straight forward with a small jumpline and the rail line set up for progression.

You will be able to swing a park alot easier if it is smallish and safety oriented.

It would be nice if you could go to the meeting with a set plan, not just a list of reasons.

Tell them how the park should be set up make it sound like you have put a lot of time and research into it. Contact the park managers and BB, Seven Springs and even some of the bigger mountains in new england/VT and ask them a few questions.

I have always liked round top, but whitetail edges it out only because the park is significantly better.

If roundtop put in a BANGING park it would have my business for sure..

Um just show them bigbear the entire resort is pretty much jibs and jumps, and they are so sold out every weekend...

haha word to that homie...

we have some stuff to take to the meeting..basically today there was a senior staff meeting (meaning all the supervisors) and there was chaos...

wednesday there is a park meeting and we just need to get it through the GM's head that parks are the future of the industry. Or atleast they are a big part
