*I need a new camera*

so my video camera has come to its end. I used it to just get the basic gist of filming. It has served me pretty well for the last year and a half and its time for me to get a new one. So these are the specs the kind of features i want in the camera.
-Price Range: Under $1000-HD. i have a mac, pretty fast. and i need good quality video.-Slow-mo capability. I want a camera so when i edit, i can use slowmo but without it being all blurry and fuzzy. Pretty clear quality.-Good quality video. From my experience with my camera, the quality wasnt that good and it was hard to do any kind of editing without it looking like crap.-Not too difficult to use. i want a camera that has good features, features that arent too hard to use but yet again not just the straight out basic camera.-durable. I want this camera to be durable. I want it to last me a couple of years. I will most likely be buying a bunch of accessories.-Good zoom. I want a camera that i can take shots that are pretty far away. i wont only be using it skiing but for more including soccer, fishing trips, family trips ect.-I dont want cassete or cd. i want either the like internal hard drive or miniSD.-Good battery life. I know most cameras dont have really good battery life but i want a descent one, not one with like an hour battery life. I would probably buy an extra battery if needed.
What i've been looking at: -HV30 -Canon X series(probably not cuz of price but if i found one for under $1000 i would consider it). -And Lastly the Canon HF series
Any help would be greatly appreciated. No negative comments please. thank you +K for any help. :)

if you go to cnet.com they have reviews on all the technology you can need. they have this questionaire that you can fill out that will help you narrow down choices based on your specs. like price range, size, functions, its pretty complete. plus in depth reviews on all products

i mean it depends on what you want. there are so many options right now cameras and its really all about personal preference. if you want mini-dv then a hv30.

what about this?

its what im looking at

if you set the tape to 60fps then you can get non-blurry slo-mo, but the quality will not be as good. I have an hv30 and it is a really nice camera.

its not really 60 fps its 60 fields per second which is pretty much 30 frames per second... if you want to have good slowmo ability you have to dish out the lettuce... and the HV 30 is a pretty nasty little camera i would suggest you in that direction and would suggest that your capture using apple pro res settings and you will have a nice set up...

^nah man, you can get the hv20/30/40 to get really good slow motion, but it is at 1/2 resolution.
basically, you seperate the fields and make each a seperate field its own frame (hence cutting resolution by 1/2) so you end up with 60 full frames/second playing at 30 fps (essentially playing at 30 fps is 50% speed)

Definantly A Hv30. I have one and the quality that comes out of hv20s and 30s can preety much be compared to an AH1 and some of those high end cameras.
