I need a challenge

I've hit a little bit of a photographers block and really need to get out and shoot more than anything.
What can you guys suggest in terms of ideas of photo walks, essays, topics that would 1)challenge me to become a better photographer 2) motivate me to get out there and just shoot.

Disagree if you want but i've been wanting to do a small piece on Smokers. I'm sure it's been done before ( i mean, what hasn't) but it'd revolve around my home city of portland. photographing almost everyone with a cig and a simple question, "why do you smoke?" or "when did you start smoking". Something of a character piece as well as a census of sorts. As i said before, feel free to disagree, just an idea i've been sitting on.
I guess what motivates you to shoot is what interests you. For me it's people. my 2cents

Interesting. I'll definitely give that some thought cuz it would certainly pull me out of my comfort zone and that's kind of what i need.

You should do the photo contest it's pretty fun I think this weeks category was stuff decaying
