im a second year skiier and im really getting in to park, im going to be trying like everything possible but im not so good at just skiing in general yet. the reason im saying "over board" is because i bought Armada El Rays, FD jacket, saga pants, smith I/O goggles and a bunch of other expensive things. i would like to know what u think? i personly dont care what ppl think because i think all that stuff looks sick and is awesome in general, and im not paying for it haha. so do u think a noob shouldnt look cool because they suck? or it ddoesnt matter? thanks and have a great day?;D

man having cool thing to wear doesn't mean having swag or anykind of steez...it,s depend the way you ride and the way you wear these !

You are not your job. You are not how much money you have in the bank. You are not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet.

You're not your fucking khakis.

Wow. Spoiled little 12 year old.

Please never post on this site again.

It is people like you that wish I could rate lower than 0/10 on the karma scale.

Don't focus so much on gear, its all about the good times who cares about what gear you got on the mountain.

This. iv'e seen so many tards at my mountain who look like a bunch oif deuchers wearing all fd or even worse... nomis full suit but thats just my opinion. You gotta have style and swag to look like a g in thet kind of stuff. personall, i like cool looking stuff that isn't recognizeable by every skier and snowboarder and isnt 5 x's tall

Imo it looks stupid when kids wear stuff which they think makes them instant cool, but still cant ski for shit..

Its all about the good times, and rationally thinking, your propably gonna wreck alot more in the beginning so wearing cheap gear you dont have to care about bailing on a rusty rail.

hopefully you at least bought solid color outerwear.... i can only image someone in the multi-colored FD jacket with bright saga pants with dark patches.... bleh

First day on the hill...ever...friend of a friend had:

Brand new Dumont Suit (red/white)

Brand new Full Tilt Booters

Dumont Beanie (red/white)

red Oakley goggles (nicenicenice ones)

Brand new Moment Jibs

Extremely nice bindings

And drove to the hill in a brand new STI

Pisses me off that I'm still reppin demo bindings and a friends old boots.

And yet these are the people our ski industry relies on to keep afloat.

So thank you kid, for dumping your parent's money into something I care about, because I'm too broke to do it myself.

exactly this. I dont have a ton of money to throw around for gear. I ride used skogen sprang pro model skis. They were only ridden on 5 times. but they date back to 06, so they are old as shit. and I have old hand-me-down boots. only nicest thing I have is new binding. but I only droped 125 for those. I always hate it when kids brag about all the nice shit they get.

I have some 1990's volant chubs (Not even twin tipped and are pointy at the front) and ex rental Nordica 507s as my current setup due to me being poor, yet i still shred and have a good time on the slopes and in the park. Gear doesnt make a good time.

you guys need to fucking relax. sure, there's a certain knee jerk reaction when you see some guy in a skittle suit who sucks, but if that's even in the top 1000 things in your mind when youre skiing, or even worse, when youre on the internet talking about skiing, you gotta make your life more interesting or something

"please never post on this site again"? i hope youre just being dramatic to stir the pot

wow. little harsh there seeing how you dont know the kid

I know him, he is not spoiled by any means, pretty sad a moderator is telling someone not to post on this site again

sense you got all those things, your gunna have to at least try to throw down though, if you ski around and dont even try anything it will be stupid, but if you push yourself people will usually respect you

whatever. I was all about the gear back when I was a kid. once i got good at skiing I did't care what i wore but free gear just kept coming to me so i looked trendy haha. now i'm back to not being good and my gear is all from like 2007.

I don't think people really notice

the only way you're gonna get heckled is if you're a little shit in the park. give respect and you will get respect back- if you don't act like an asshole you won't get made fun of by an "asshole."

this and if you give it your all you'll progress pretty fast. It's my 2nd year skiing park and I can huck cork 7's and have a big bag of rail tricks /claim

This is good for the industry, because you suck. But your spending money, dont hate on this although this kid is gonna look like a tool. IT KEEPS COMPANIES IN BUSINESS!!!

all i hear are two types of people, rich ass 12 year olds who's parents buy shit for them and older people who's parents don't support them anymore and who don't have the money to buy super expensive stuff.

what is everyones attitude towards teenagers who buy all their own stuff? I'm 16, and i go to private boarding school so everybody assumes i'm a rich ass prick who has everything he wants. Yes, my family is wealthier than most, yet our house is a little over the average size in an average income town, and the biggest way we've ever displayed our money is by getting a 17 foot boat last year. my parents pay for my education, but I buy ALL of my ski gear. my setup this year has been entirely bought by me, with money I earned over the summer working in a grocery store. with the exception of my new 2009 armada el reys, which my dad found for 300 bucks brand new and bought for me for christmas, i've bought everything i will wear on the hill. honestly, it wasn't that hard either.... i don't get why 15/16 year olds get their parents to buy them stuff, when working for the money and then getting your new saga or FD in the mail feels so much better. get a job, it's not the end of the world, it teaches you life skills and you make money. work your ass off and you can make 4 digits like i did in 2 months. i also don't understand the obsession with wondering what other people think of your setup. YOU should be the one who cares, not them. if YOU don't think you're good enough to get fulltilts, dont get them! don't ask us.

Some kid at my home mountain shows up first day with

A brand new simon dumont full suit for the second year in a row

Armada el reys

Dalbello IL moro Ts

Oakley Airbrakes

FKSs

and he can't ski at all
