Hyphy edit 2.0 from Brent Callow on Vimeo.

So i made this edit. I think some specific people will like the way it was edited.

That was so sick!
I loved the filming/editing/music and the skiing made it that much better. All those kids slayed. So sick man.

The random vignettes and edge blurs were annoying, if youre gonna do that shit be more subtle and consistant.

Song was horrible the intro was sweet but then it turned into a shitty song.

Filming was on point, probably the best part of this edit.

The film burn was alright, i dunno i hate film burns and the flashing was meh and the bad tv is extra played.

Sorry if that was harsh.

im glad you commented on my edit eheath. I put in every single effect in that edit and chose the song just for you.

he was stating his opinion, take it easy. personally i thought it was good, i agree the filming was good. No titles or anything at all in it though?

hahaha i am taking it easy. i didnt think his comment was harsh at all because i wasnt serious about any of the editing. I know some people like edits with all those and some dont, especially eheath.

it was something that i whipped up in like an hour because i was bored so i didnt give it a title, just one credit at the end.

thanks for the compliments everybody.

that was so dope! loved it
-first shots were slowed down too much. we shouldn't see any choppiness or frame blending. also, you should play with the colors of the intro shots more to make the edit grip the viewer more. the colors on the shot at 00:09 are a good example of what i mean, it's so vibrant and really grabs attention-at 00:16, I would avoid subtly sped up shots. it just feels off.-time lapses were sick as hell -on the gopro shot at 00:47, I would stretch that shot so it fits the aspect ratio of the rest of the shots and you don't have the letterboxing on the sides.-this had the length and flow of an edit, not a teaser. so it would have been nice to have seen more landings for sure. if it's gonna be a teaser, it needs to be quick cuts and under 2:00. somewhere around 1:30 is a golden length for amateur teasers. also, try not to ever cut in the middle of a trick (like spinning off a rail), it's always a very awkward cut when people do that.

as everybody said though, great editing and the filming was on point. super solid video. and that last clip made me lol

lol you've got to be fucking kidding me. this is what happens when you open one tab to watch the video and another tab to write critiques. fml.

haha damn this edit is really sick too. filming was real nice and the colors were great. the blur vignette bugged me a little at times but it was no big deal. also, i love film burn but make sure you use them on footage that doesn't look too digital (not really saturated and contrasty)

Hahahaha I've done what you just did before also. I generally never use vignettes and bad tv effects and a few film burns but I kinda wanted to go over the top with this one. Just playing around. Thanks for the comments.

February Day with Banks and Blake from Evan Heath on Vimeo.

I do think you used it way better though, OP's edit feels like an out of control over the top dubstep slo mo crank

Dude, imo, that was very well put together. I loved everything about it. To me, the music and the video flowed very well together. The ONLY thing that was ish for me was the random vignettes. No big deal though. Definitely dope!

Yeah i felt like mine was subtle enough and was actually synced to a realistic sound, not some stupid whomping.
