that's fucking sick.

what materials you use? what are the dimensions of the ski?

its mostly trimmed by now that was with all the excess fiberglass and epoxy still attached

maple/poplar core, ptex sidewalls, 2 layers fiberglass, inserts like a snowboard for look p12 jibs

I want a pair! You'll have to post how they ski once the snow starts falling, I'm curious to see whether all the crap they market to us makes that huge of a difference.

wow i like that idea. i would make a center mount set of inserts and another set back for powder. pretty damn cool idea man. props.

yeah. keep us updated with your progress, i would love to see the finished product

dude seanpistol has the best idea in the history of skiing. They should totally do that on all skis.

You people should really go to skibuilders.com and then realize that people have been building inserts into skis for years. Also If those are your first pair of homemade skis do not expect them to be supper good. do not throw away your mold because you will probably want to make a few agustments latter. expect to make about 5 pairs before you get a really good pair.

dude, those graphics are insane. i love em. if any of you have seen the Karhu PFD, thats like my kind of graphics. love em. so pretty and likeable. glad someone on here shares my likeness of wood topsheets. and the insert ideas are extreeeeemely sickening. how much did that cost you.both skis?

That my friend........is amazingly sweet, truly fucking dank....one of these days when I'm not poor as all hell, and have the stuff to do it, I'll build a pair myself, let us know how they ride and all of that one you use them.

wow man thats fucking awesome, id like to do that some day. the specs sound good as well, im interested to see how they go. you have to let us know

I've said this a couple times

All binding patterns should be the same, then there should be inserts on a couple different places on ALL skis. That way we don't have to pay for mounting, and multiple mounting doesn't weaken the ski. That's the only thing I think we can benefit from snowboarders.

Yea seriously if the ski industry standarized mouting points, I think the design of skis would definitely progress in a positive direction.

do you have a ski press? how did you make it because i want to make a pair of skis as my senior project.

Wow Cal, damn, those are sick. Are you actually gonna ride those at lab this year? Because damn a 100 waist sick. I really like thsoe, shit.

Hey

Don't have a lot of time here, inbetween classes so I couldn't read all of the above. How are you going to put a metal edge on and what is your bottom going to be?

WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE THINK LINE HAS BEEN TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH!!? And then you all bitch at them for it because it's "too heavy" or "too high off the ski" when it's a concept in DEVELOPMENT. Jesus christ, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you all think this is such an amazing idea, then stop being a bunch of whiny pricks when it comes to the reactor, so that at some point it actually DOES end up happening, maybe.

yea don't paint it, just do a clear coat or something. haha fiberglass over i guess?

anyways look at the arbor element snowboard. do it like that.

Hey, what can I say, I adore Hebrew people.

Even if they killed my lord.

Props to moses.

they dont need a cearcoat because they have a topsheet like any other ski except its clear. The rinkles are a potective tape like layer that prevents the topsheet from getting covered with epoxy.

Do you ask that we buy a binding we don't like now so that in the future it might improve for our posterity? I love Line I sell the hell out of their skis and I support whatever decision they make as to the progress of our sport but the current binding is not very good.

You're all fucking idiots...oops, can't standardize a "normal" mounting pattern on skis. Why? BOOTS. Snowboard boots can deal with overhang, etc, but unless we drastically change the way either bindings, boots, or both work and interact with each other, you can't just "standardize" ski binding mounting without doing something along the lines of a Reactor. The closest you'll come to is in a custom ski build, with custom insert placement for YOUR boot size. And don't start with "boot sizes are standardized", because they're not. A Rossi size 26 boot isn't the same length as a Tecnica or Salomon or Lange 26. They're all different.

Basically, it breaks down like this:

Line:1 You:0
