I Made a Ski Resort Map

Hey guys, as a personal project just to learn some javascript I made a little interactive website with **most** of the ski resorts in the US. I put most because I am sure I am missing a local hill here or there, but it's just about all there. I would like to get as many resorts in the world at some point, but gotta start somewhere right?

It will not look good on mobile as I am still working on that part, but on the computer I think it looks pretty good. Please let me know what you think, any functionality I can add etc etc. Thanks for looking!

i like it a lot

maybe add pictures and info (base, elevation, etc) to the pop up bit for each mtn?

Thanks man, and yeah I was thinking about that. The pictures may be hard due to copyright stuff unless we could get NS together to take a bunch of pictures for me. I was also thinking about adding elevation and more stats down the road as well, so glad to hear that's what people would want to see.

I approve of what you’re doing. Nice work. My suggestion would be that a trail map link populates when zoomed in on a specific resort like the wiki info already does.

The map is really cool. Maybe something to think about is to make it more crowdsourced? (not sure if that's the right word lol) But it would be cool if people could add their own photos and information about the resorts

I would love to make this more of a crowdsource/wiki where people could upload their own stuff about their home mountain. I just need to figure out a way to moderate the submissions so it doesn't turn into people submitting "420 blaze it mountain". But yeah I would love to implement this sort of thing.

Hmm I could be completely wrong because I'm not a coder, but is there a way to block certain keywords?

Or or maybe somehow integrate it with a newschoolers membership?

There's an infinite amount of possibilities I'm stoked to see where it goes

Hey guys, thanks for all the love. As requested I have added the ability to add your own resort. You can go to the link below or click on the "Add a resort here" link on the main page. It will not go up right away as I have to update the master sheet with the resort and make sure it's not a fake resort.

Would it be possible to add a feature where users can add our own pictures of the resorts?

it bloody suks I Kept grabbin the map and swipin her every which way! Couldn't even find me local hill! JK

On the real note, that's an awesome program, I dig it. Keep up what you're doin fam

That's pretty cool. The search box won't leave the map when zooming in on Android mobile however. Maybe out an X or something on it so we can close out of it

Yeah I'm working on the mobile part. The search box takes up the whole screen right now. Trying to work in some sort of mobile menu.

This is awesome man. The mountain where I work is tiny and was impressed when I found it on there. Great work dude!

Thanks to whoever submitted the places in Ontario! Much appreciated and they have all been added. Currently working to get the mobile looking and functioning better.
