I just watched Happy Dayz and Ready Fire Aim. They are soooooooooooooooooooooooo sick. I was blown away. I thought that because they are older I wouldnt like them as much but I couldnt have been more worng.

Session 1242 is my second favorite ski movie of all time. PBP does a damn good job of making ski movies, even if their roster is a little short and stale.

I watched happy days just yesterday and I totally agree. So sick. I like happy days and session 1242 the most of all pbp movies. the newer ones I don't like as much as level 1 flicks.

dont you mean ready fire lame?

haha jk it was alright. just not as good as some other flicks of its time, cough.1242cough

X=Ten is my favorite of all time. For some reason I just really liked it. Niklas Karlstrom's part blew my mind even though it was sooo short. Just the filming mixed with the mellow indie beat got me real stoked.

I hope they stop using so much rock music though, its getting annoying.

word sick movie except im gonna go with dumonts segment just cuz the song made me feel like a pimp, and you're right about the rock music

i havent seen war but i can tell you that ski porn is one hella sick movie nad yes i know hella i was played but there is no other way to describe it

thats msp man, although x=ten had too much of it.

But, war and 1242 rank up there in the best ski movies, although, i still think stereotype and lss are the best.

I know, thats one of the things that blew my my mind. Years ago they were going to japan for powder, do zeros and 180s in the backcountry powder, lots of the same shit that I thought was new shit until I watched the old movies.

really i find it so refreshing to hear rock/indie/punk in ski soundtracks cuase tehre NEVER is anymore. fucking Rise Against in ski porn? awesome.

happy dayz, 1242, X...so good. war was really good too

yea i thought war sucked, if you have to literally mute two of the segments in a movie, that says something.

landis is right, rock has no place in ski movies, and it almost never sounds good. i thought it worked with hatvietts part cause hes an aggressive skier, but elsewhere it simply does not sound good.

mellow beats, electronic style shit, and rap is where its at.

"Rock" is such a broad term, like you are organizing CD's at Target or something. Thats like calling Nelly Rap and Cher electronica style. Every genre has it's cutting edge, and it's shit.

Wolfmother is cool, Indie Rock is cool (Placebo in NASM, Modest Mouse in Focused) I loved the Punk and Glam rock in 1242 and Propaganda. You rule out a lot of good shit when you say Rock has no place, maybe the rock you know about has no place.

sorry, but I just really dont like to hear rock in ski movies. i liked the faint song in push, but thats about it. its my opinion, yes, but i really dont like the rock music in ski vids.

x=10, sessions, and war were all cheddar.

i didnt like ski porn as much (only hatveits part)

they are pretty solid though

Faint is more electronic than rock, but I noticed you also think the best skier of all time is T Heed so I will stop giving your opinions any credibility. T Heed is cool, but I've never seen him do anything cool off rails.

msp has jon olsson now and cr is back so im pretty sure they are going to blow us a way next year. if they got the hatveit brothers they would own

I'm halfway through ski porn and I'm loving it. Ton of park stuff, or at least up until now, since the closest 'powder' from me is a decent 5 hours, I'm not too stoked by it..yet

thats what I love about 16mm the most! It adds kind of an alternate dimension of time to my cinematic experiance. This is one of the reasons why I dont like Level 1 movies at all, they are just normal speed, very digital looking, and it looks too "real". I dont want real. I want something inspiring.

Delusion is one way to forget about the fact that a good HD cam is worth more than your car. Btw, stark crystal clear real time footage in this dimension is more inspiring than any grainy raggedy ass slomo 16 mm art fart. Those movies make you lose touch with the concept of speed and risk that only the clarity of real time HD hits hard with. The reality of today's skiing IS the art.

The Belanger edit in RFA is really was the best segi of both those films. Inventive and original.

No dumbass, its not HD.

1. It is not even shot with an HD camera

2. It is not viewed on an HD TV (usually), and if it is...

3. It is not burned on an HD DVD

4. It is not played on an HD DVD player

5. 16mm is higher resolution, sharper, AND clearer than Sony HDV will ever be

6. The Sony FX1 is nowhere near as expensive as a car, it is a shitty camera.

7. semi-slo mo makes tricks look smoother

I'm sorry but you don't know what you're talking about. Unless I see you making some serious movies or doing something that proves you have any camera knowledge at all, I suggest you shut it.

and this makes no sense either. Take the shots of Tanner on Chad's gap for example. That was shot at 60 fps, and in the footage he's STILL going really fucking fast. Now if he looks like hes going normal speed in footage that was shot super slow mo, how does that make you lose touch with the "speed and risk" of the trick?

with slo mo, it seems as if you are suspended in the trick; suspended in the crucial moment of skiing for slightly longer. Of course, this is opinion and debatable, but you can't just claim "facts" to support your opinion.

haha so weird, i just found my ready fire aim and watched it the other day, loved it

the music in ski porn made me not like the movie as much

WAR is such a dope movie every song was sick the riding was also good and pep had the sickest bc Ive ever seen. its definately my favorite PBP movie ever
