I lost $102 to a homeless man today

yea, being from Canada, at first I didn't understand how you gave him $2 plus another hundred. (cause we've got a $2 coin which you can't confuse for a bill)

you should feel good about that man, even if it was a mistake. hopefully he doesn't go buy drugs or something.

See, I would love to hear some of the bum stories (hell, making a book of them would be really interesting), but all the bums around my neck of the woods are schizophrenic and shout at themselves. Plus, last time I gave some dude a dollar, three other bums closed in on me like vultures. I know it sucks to be homeless and that they are people too, but its not a buck here and there they really need. I would gladly give $1 a month to support an organization that hooks them up with jobs and gives them shelter.

dang, thought it was going to be a story about losing 102 bucks on a bet with a homeless guy.

Yeah they are people who usually are ALCOHOLICS giving them a brew is not the smartest thing. Food is good booze not so good.

hate to say it but chances are he spent it on drugs

i always feel bad denying homeless people money, but i do it because i know what they are going to spend it on

if only there was a way to buy them a meal and make them eat it instead

im sorry but i have no compassion for bums...its one thing if someone you know is going through tough times or something, but pan handlers suck. they make a killing during rush hour(some make 7 dollars a minute in NYC) And what do they do? take the money at the end of the day and tweak out. worthless people. they can get the help if they need it, only a small percentage are totally hopeless. never give money to jobless junkies. Although I give money to street preformers because they are trying to work towards there money...not just beg for money.

yeah man theres alot, one time my dads car was broken into and all he had was his bag and a roll of drawings cause hes an architecht, so we come back and th back door of the car is open and his bag and stuff is gone. so two days later this guy named randy (who wasnt a homless guy, just did alittle dumpster diving on the side) calls up my dad and says he found his bag in a dumpster (buisness card in the bag). so my dad takes the sea buss over and picks it up and gives the guy 40 bucks, and randy was a suuuuper nice guy he says

That's real cool that you didn't freak out. At least you're able to buy food whenever you want, now he can for a while. And you can even make a thread on NS bout it!
