In my dream, I got vs and they were way too small and I regretted going with 177 instead of 183.

I’m 5’7, been planning on getting 183 so idk why my dreams are telling me I got 177. I could still be in the dream tho, if that’s the case I hope I ride some big horns in my dream
 
okay well get what you want but keep in mind that NS has a collective IQ of about 24 and likes repeating phrases it heard, the way toddlers and parrots do

if you know your skis and want 183s that's great but otherwise i definitely do not advise you to get skis 13cm over your head that are made for skiing rails and dumpsters lmao

I’ve been riding 178 chronics as my main ski for the past few years, I really dig long skis. But yeah if you’re going by the book they’re too long for me. I’m also getting plus if that matters.

there have been way too many threads on this shit so let’s not let this one get serious

wets ride like a ski 20cm shorter than they actually are so it all works out. I'm 5'7" and wouldn't make my 183's any shorter. I ski tight trees and can do flat ground 3's just fine so it's really not a problem.

Yep I hear ya and I have skis that tower over me. My point is that 1) sizing way up on Vishnus doesn't make much sense to me, they're not charging or even jump skis, their whole schtick is being loose/playful/forgiving and 2) that's great if you and others want yours tall but anyone who is asking others for size advice shouldn't buy skis 10+ cm over their head lol

and NS is king at giving ""cool"" advice that is ~3 words long and fucking dumb when applied to every single situation, "just send it bro," "get full tilts," "center mount everything," "overshooting is actually safer than undershooting" etc etc

considering weight just as much as height is great advice. maybe your rebranding will get it put into rotation here

tbh I like the feel of longer skis for balancing on rails and their swing weight is so low that it's not much of a burden for getting swaps around. I think the rocker profile lets them be forgiving even at a longer length. I get that people probably shouldn't be riding skis way above their heads but I think people should look at wet and wide sizes as if they're around 7cm shorter than listed. My 176 full camber skis feel much longer than my 183 wets.

i hear you on all that, no arguments there. i should have been more clear about my main point, tall skis are great if you want them, but if a person is asking for advice on a ski length, that means they do not know what you probably should to make that decision and they would almost certainly be better off on skis right around their height. if they had the experience that informs a skier that they want taller than normal skis they wouldn't be asking, ya know?

I guess, but I'd recommend anyone used to a 176 2x4 looking for v's go for the 183. Big skis for the sake of big skis is dumb but v's genuinely ride way shorter than they actually are.
