I just want a powered sub that hits hard

i need a 10 or 12 for my dorm room, preferably over 500w rms, i just need a lot of spl for this cause my speakers are already overpowering so i am only looking for the boom.. opinions?
 
You will get in trouble with that big of a sub in your dorm. when I was in the dorms I was on the 4th floor, had a 6 and you could hear it on the 1st floor. For such a small room, 6 is plenty big.

When I said get in trouble I meant more along the lines that him and some friends will be drinkin or smokin in there and wanna bang some music. But when you have your door shut and are bumpin music at night RA's know whats going on they aren't stupid and you will get busted if they want you to.
 
adding to that, for a dorm room you won't probably need anything then an 10 inch, honestly if you position it right an 8 would probably be enough.
 
I have the infinity bass link and like it. Not too expensive, and provides plenty of boom for my little car.
 
i had one in my dorm also , people just get super pissed off i only ended up using it when we were drinking and stuff
