I just spent a night ontop of my mountain.

Highest point in New York, the land of amazing pizza: Mount Marcy. 5,343 feet above sea level.

A giant mountain on America's proverbial face:

Highest point in California, the land of surf, sand, and epic bros: Mount Whitney, 14,505 feet above sea level.

thankyou for such an informative bump.

i didnt know that the west coast has bigger mountain then the east coast.

we have to make due with what we have bro.

sorry for being a doucher, I was born in and used to live in ny and skied windham all the time. But as a new yorker, I have to go ahead and say that no, they are not mountains.

I notice your an asshole.. Kinda makes you more gay for critiquing someone on something you haven't done when you should be giving him props.

That sounds awesome though, I camped over at my mountain on a night we got around 15 inches. It was a big deal at the time. Only difference is my mountain only has 500 vertical feet haha. Your experience sounds sick and well worth it.

Thats awesome. Someday my buddies and I are going to tour up somewhere, make a snowcave, and ski pow for a few days straight.

did that a couple years back in late march when i was racing with my ski team. luckily, the long trail goes right over the mountain, and there is a cabin on top of the mountain, but it is missing quite a few windows and is nowhere near 100% solid. we only brought one stack of wood (about 8 peices) and put about 4 into the stove to start. the stove was ridiculously hot, and burned through wood like paper. by the time we decided to go to sleep, the wood was gone, and it was about 80 inside. i slept in the attic-thing, where it was about 85. woke up at midnight, and it was 20. slept the rest of the night in my north face down jacket inside my sleeping bag with my hood up over my hat. got to wake up the next morning and force my feet into my frozen solid race boots. then got to ski down the hardest race trail in VT that was completely ice, with a 40 pound backpack. real good time.
spark notes: stayed overnight at my mountain in a cabin, stove burned too little wood too fast, got really hot, then really cold, and i couldnt put my boots on in the morning.
