! i just spent 1800$

If only I had spare change laying around screaming "Spend ME."

Maybe i would get to go skiing this year for more than a week.

THANK YOU, I don't understand the whole car mods thing. It's not like you're out racing for pinks or something.

i know your right, yet i know in a week or two i will buy a car with a lot of mods that probably wont be as new or reliable as what i could have got.

Honestly that's a horrible idea, owner's mod their cars to beat the shit out of them. If you really really have to get a modded car get it checked out by a trusted mechanic. What kind of cars are you looking at?

thank god i haven't gotten on that spending bandwagon yet, i still see no point in car mods but it's a damn expensive habit

JESUS!!!! YOU SPENT $1800 ON A TURBO BACK, HOSE AND PULLY????

i have a turbo back, perrin big maf, and a perrin top mount for under a grand.

buy your shit used!!!

I am getting it checked out by a mechanic for sure. And im looking at a civic with a b18c engine swap. 120,000kms on the engine and 180000kms on the body. timing belt and water pump done with the swap.

its got a bunch of other stuff put into it. i know i should stay away but yeah. i didnt think the kms were THAT bad. and I know the mechanic cant check everything but if it all looks ok its not gonna be that bad is it? I know a part will go here and there but...

i wanna get an 85 corolla and tune it to drift. theres so many empty neighborhoods around my town you could get so loose on

It all depends on who did the work and how much of a skeeze ball the owner is. Modded cars are a gamble, you could get something great or you could be getting a giant piece of shit.

all the big stuff was done by shops, he has receipts.

and would the mechanic be able to tell me how he's driven it?

He should be able to tell if it's beat. I know one thing they check is to see if the pedals are overly worn. That usually means that the driver does a lot of quick shifts and is probably bad news. Make sure the timing belt is good too, I remember that being one of the big issues with honda engines.

np, and if anything looks shitty just back away. don't waste your money if you aren't in love with the car.

Im not sure how many used parts are available for the 08...everyone says 08 was crap anyways :S go figure. Anyways, I didn't check on the used parts but I love driving the thing. That stock shit stank though and i want it to sound thoatier, free up some back pressure in the exhaust system, and basically get it ready to put some more horsies in it. I am lookin at autocross so im not doin all this just for the street.

bushings will make the drive to work and the mountain more fun and I actually just ordered endless brake pads, goodridge cables and brake fluid this mornin 0.o ... I need to stop

It is not the best idea to buy a bolt-on turbo for a non-turbo Subaru. Do your homework man, there are a lot of problems that can happen because of it.

If it does work out, it's never going to be as good as a stock-turbo Subaru, and you will dramatically decrease engine life.

What i did was i bought a car pre-modded. A lot of people say don't buy a car thats previously modded, but it depends what you do with it. I bought my suby off the original owner with under 50k miles pretty much did every bolt-on to the engine and plenty of other stuff to the car. I wanted to play the mod game so it saved me a TON of money getting it pre-modded, and used my money on the mods that i wanted to do or that needed to be replacing. The guy i bought it off from though sucked a decent amount of stuff needed to be fixed, but in the long run I would've done all the same stuff anyway so it didnt really matter.

Got any pics of the whip? Also, check out www.nasioc.com. you'll learn a shit ton and they have bomb classified sections

^^ LOL

Billek, its a wrx... it has a turbo don't know where u got the idea i was doing anything crazy like that. I did read some threads on nasioc. That shit is intense, I don't understand half of there acronyms and terms for everything but I am good at physics so i understand basically what I am going to do to my car.

I have a pic from when i first bought it in my profile. will try and take a new pic of what it looks like now. It doesn't haveanything done but shaved tags, some stickers and a tint

Oh, I didn't know your full story.

There are a lot of kids out there that think they can just bolt a turbo onto their Subaru, and even though it's possible, it is far from practical.
