so back in 8th grade i started ski racing. everyone else started when they were like 8 years old. well i got no love and i blew fat nuts, but with some elbow grease and persistence i managed to get myself semi-sponsored by my second to last year, just 4 years in. i felt pretty good, learned a thing or two, thought i had things under control... well now, my second year as just another bum on the hill, my boots have dissintegrated, i mean this almost literally, my basboards are actually decaying in the boots, i took one out last night and it smelled like an old stump... then it fell apart in my hand. well this situation needs a remedy so i decided to hit up the most reputable shop in town for this matter... eventually... which would be snow covers. well after the guy in there gave a quick glance at my feet he described something about my bone and musclar structure... and basically that i was a moron for looking at the boots i was... pro model spaceframes or course spaceframes (just to kick it old school ya know?) and super small race fit steeze. they never really told me what i should be buy, but they made me look stupid, which is my old coaches fault for not teaching me anything useful. so, the lesson here: respect the boot guy. the guys at snowcovers can be pricks but they ussually know what they are talking about, they have fit boots to national team members, but i wouldn't doubt in a sec they would try to rip someone off with un need bootfitting, ive been going there for fitting for a few years, they have tried some bullshit with me but unfortunly for them i know a lot about boot fitting and put them in their place if they try offering me any crap

Dolomites gave me terrible boot bang for years, and it suddenly stopped once i switched to 1080 boots. Go with what you think feels best, my friend cant fit his foot into my boot but is riding x-waves, even though we've got the same size feet. Its just foot form.

see the thing was, i walk in, ask to try on a pair of pro mdels and a pair of courses... they bring em out, say take off your shoes, and on the spot analyze my foot shape, the kind of boot i should have ( but nothing about model... or what i should actually buy) and its effectg on my skiing... and it was all spot on. i lose my toenails because my achilles is too wide and straight which pushes my foot forward and at the same time leans me too far forward, making me ski in the back seat a lot. but then they wouldnt suggest something better... and since i still do college beer-league racing... i kind of sitll want a stiff boot... so i ask if they thought pro models would work... im thinking they might be soft, migbht have to find a way to give them a try... but they wouldnt tell me anything. they just said a full on fitting sesh would run meup to like 400 bucks... and obviously they can work pretty much any boot to any shape... but you know, why would i wasnt that when i could just buy something that was a closer shape or something. um yeah, basically im saying that the people it snowcovers are apparently pretentious bastards... but really smart... other than that this post is a little like seinfeld... in that its about nothing... except its not funny.
