My friend was arrested on IMO bullshit charges for malicious harrassment because on the metro bus he made a couple jokes about the VT massacre and some dumb racist jokes right after. Some freshman overheard snippets of the conversation and told his mom and his mom told the police, who in turn arrested my buddy, and since I'm the main witness they questioned me. No police people have contacted me since so this is really sudden.

I'm leaving for spain on friday for 2 weeks and the court date is during this time and they say they'll arrest me if I don't show up.

do you think I'll be able to either just give a written statement or have the trial moved or is the vacation fucked?
 
that SUCKS man. sorry to hear that and that is pretty gay about your friend getting arrested... try to write a written statement or see if you can do it over the phone maybe
 
Tell the judge you were impaired under controlled substances and unable to recount the event with clear memory. Plus whatever happened to free speech?
 
thats what I asked the officer. He said that if anything in connection to a specific race and violence toward them is heard and it upsets someone then the person who said that could be arrested.
 
fuck those bitches. if you cant give a written statement or maybe on over the phone, go to spain and fuck them.
 
dude you can't get arrested for going on vacation. you are missing a court date because of a predetermined vacation. you aren't even the one indicted, you are just a witness. talk to the judge and ask to come in at a later date. if he says no tell him to go screw himself
 
Just give them a written statement. No way they're going to make you cancel that kind of trip for something juvenile.

well APPARENTLY they decided to either postpone the case or drop it all together since they have so little evidence against him. I'll hear back after the trip.

if you haven't been physically supoened yet, then try to dodge the officer who will serve you, if you have been supeaned got to the judge and ask for a new trial date and give your reasons
 
it would all come down to he said she said. no one actually got what he said on tape so what evidence can be used against him to incriminate him for being malicious?
