Me too. I've been almost completely out of the game since Gold and Silver came out. I don't really remember many of the Pokemon from those versions either.

batteries in game boy cartridges die all the time. you can easily replace them and in GBA games it still saves but it just cant keep track of time

Did you never play Zelda as a kid? I've replaced many batteries in those cartridges.
