so i'm always rolling my ankles it seems, like i've rolled my ankle 3 times this weak and its fucking bullshit haha.
so, i'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions for like, excercises or what-not to make my ankle blow less ass.
and i run every day, so uhhh yeah i dunno if that matters any.

my right ankle is jacked. i rolled it once a few years back, and since then it seems to roll a lot more easy. best thing i can say is wrap it up in an ace bandage before running, and try to use shoes that offer some ankle support. it should start to get better after a while if you dont roll it in the meantime

i dont know specifics but definitely try to stretch your ankles a lot, i dont know how much it will help but it cant hurt

Dude who knows better than Shane. I say about 30 or 40 reps of the slam per night should fix you right up.

skiers tend to have weak ankles because a large portion of lives are spent with our ankles immobilized in a ski boot. After a winter of not using our ankles, we then head ignorantly into summer, feeling strong and motivated, and play various sports and frolic, but our ankles are very weak compared to the rest of our body and often take the hit.

I just broke my left ankle for the second time 2 weeks ago. A few months ago I strained several ligaments in my right ankle/foot. 2 years ago I broke my right ankle.

Nobody told me that it was because of skiing that I was breaking my ankles all the time until recently. But it makes perfect sense. To counter this I recommend that you buy elastic bands and do various standard ankle exercises. I could have prevented at least two of my injuries if not all of them by being more proactive about strengthening my ankles.

yeah probably do have weak ankles. i do, i've broken my right one twice and my left one once. having a brace can help sometimes and stretching and strengthening is possible and helpful, something as easy as pointing and flexing. trampoline does help too because of all the jumping.

there is only one solution to this problem,

and it is called a bosu ball

go to your local gym or buy one

use it daily, love it, cherish it, and praise it for being able to strengthen your ankles

The best way to strengthen your ankles is to go to the gym and find the aerobic ball that is like a half dome with a flat bottom. Hope that makes sense.

Take it and stand on it with one leg. It will work all the stabilizing muscles that support your ankles. Once you have mastered just standing there try to get to the point where you can one leg unweighted squats.

Also trying to stand on one foot and touch points on the floor in front, on one side, then on other side (by doing one leg squats) will really strengthen your ankles.

Hope this helps!

As an x gymnast, my ankles are pretty shot... but one exercise we did to get them back after routine sprains were stairs.
VERY slow dips with you heels hanging off the edge. Do 10 on each stair, up the whole stair case. Each stair alternate with 1. feet pointing straight forward. 2. toes pointing inward. 3. toes pointing outward.
On the way down, hang your toes off the edge and dip them down and then back up as far as you can while keeping the weight on your heels. Do this 10 times per step, all the way down. Repeat every time you go up and down stairs.

i got surgery on my foot and my physio had me doing that,

also, get an elastic band, the type they have at physios, and I cant think of how to explain any of them (sorry) but if you ask a physio or someone you know that has gone to physio for their ankle they can tell you some things to do that will help it out. and stop twisting it all the time!!! i think thats a big part to why i need surgery this summer and last summer, but what i got is technically called a tumor... but the doctor said its a random thing that happens so i think thats partly it, so for real take care of your ankles!

I might be completely making this up, but i feel like longboarding has made my ankles stronger. And its really fun so you should just try it anyway.
