went to the doctors today because i buckled my ankle in soccer game and told me i needed surgery on my tendon.....3 games into my varsity season as a junior starting striker.....just one of the worst feelings ever....anyone else have a season ending injury?

i start left outside mid (lol left footed wassup) as a sophomore on vars (/claim?!?!?) and it's my biggest fear, soccer season is so close to ski season and i don't wanna fuck up my knee or ankle

I have cancer,on a 3.5 year chemo course, and one of the chemos i took killed the bones in my tim and fibs so i have to get double knee replacements which will be replaced every 20 years or less for the rest of my life and I can never play any sports again....so yeah man your "season ender" is really a downer

thats awful to hear man..keep your head up I really hope the chemo does its job

OP I had ankle surgery to remove a shattered bone and torn tendon and my recoup time was only 3 months till 100% health, not sure if you're in the same boat but you still have senior year which will be your most important

I've also had surgery on a torn hamstring, torn quadriceps tendon and torn rotator cuff all of which had much longer turn around times...all in all ankle surgery isnt that bad

I would check up with another doctor first before doing some surgery.... I know docs who always want to go with surgery, even if it isnt really needed. Its never bad to get a second opinion on something in my opinion! oh and I broke my clavicule last march which kinda meant an early season ending for me :/

yeah OP, fractured a vertebra in my spine in 2 places during a soccer game my sophmore year. season ender for sure.

tore my acl/mcl skiing 5/6 years ago, another season ender.

it sucks ass but it is what it is, follow doctors order, take your PT seriously and get back at it. nothing else you can do but push forward
