So i come to the conclusion that someone has been going threw the top rated videos list and rating every top rated video a 1 multiple times. I always go to the list to see how my videos are doing and last night a couple were on the front page and this morning their ratings dropped about .2 and .4 points. At first i thought someone was just making new ns names and rating only my videos low. But then i took another look and all of the videos dropped a significant amount in points, so someone is going threw and rating everyone a 1 and trying to boost theirs.

I really want to know who is doing this, because its pretty lame and i think it should be stopped.

Anyone else noticing this?
 
yeah, just happpened to me too, went from 8.12 with 33 ratings to 7.91 with 34. mods need to find the culprit, but maybe there should also be a way to check and see who gives what rating so people can be held accountable for what the give. also, ratings should be changeable cause i know i've messed up a couple times and clicked 1 instead of 9s and 10s.
 
yeah i like those two ideas. Cuz then for instance you can see if it was just someone making up a name to rate it a 1 (or a 10 if someone wants to do the opposite to themselves) and changing them would be nice, cuz i actually have done that as well. Ha it was too my own video i believe, haha.
 
That idea is on the table and I think it is a good one. I imagine it would take quite a bit of work to track and post what members rate stuff at.
 
I don't think it needs to be tracked. If the option to look and see who rated what is there, then when stuff like this happens and someone goes to a mod seeking help, they can act more effectively. Its not practical to know whether "Oh, did my buddies rate my vid yet?" or whatever, but for these problems it would be sick
 
I guess you can also change your rating of a vid you once rated 10 to a new vid which sets the new 10 and the old a 9.

But whatever. changing your rating would be cool

 
this is one of the few times i am actually serious, which part do you think is sarcastic? as i was trying to make a valid suggestion to improve the site.
 
It was the drop in a single rating that got me. Maybe that one person just didn't like your edit? I definately think people's ratings should be anonymous, but maybe limit ratings to 1 per IP.
 
yeah, it was the timing of it is why i think, like johan's sick edit dropped similarly at the same time as did a few others.
 
Yeah then this definately sounds like a bored little kid or some douchebag with too much free time if he's going around dropping peoples ratings just for shits n giggles.
 
you can just have a rolling ip to get around that, which actually i dont think many people have so thats a good suggestion.
My theory is that its others that get jealous and go around rating others 1s with random accounts and stuff.
I talked to bishop about it a while ago and he said that they are trying to think of some way to fix it but it wouldnt be a while :(.
And its not just one rating, cuz it wasnt just my video that dropped significantly, it was everyone on the first page of top rated... overnight in one night. Just wanted to clear that part up, which is why im concerned and annoyed by it.
 
happens to me all the time my videos will be at 8 for like two days and then all of a sudden their rated down to 5 or 6
 
that's shitty but not as shitty as what someone does to mine..every time i post one someone rates it a 1 right away..it's ghey.
