I am planning on making a website. Any suggestions on where to make it (i.e. freewebs). And also where is the cheapest place to get a domain name?

I also want to know where the guy from TheCouncilMusic.com made his website. If you haven't checked out that site you probably should.

K+ for any input/help

-TheCouncilMusic.com was made with wordpress.

-Wordpress, squarespace, blogger, and webs are good ways to make a website.

-GoDaddy has really cheap domains.

GoDaddy sponsers like a million things, and the people they sponser usually give out codes or /blahblah tags to get a discount or even free domain name registration...i know there are a lot of popular youtube users who give out codes for GoDaddy...thats my contribution

jumpline.com had a deal for $5 domain and hosting, thats what i did for my site. And I'd download Adobe Dreamweaver and learn to code and build your site from scratch or a template. so much better than some shitty free flash site. Stick to HTML5 and CSS3

awesome. thank you. any ideas/suggestions on what kind of website i should make? i have no job and i am just sitting around. figured i would come up with somethin.

you want to make a website but didn't think of exactly what you wanted to make??

well, you could redo my photography/video site for me

If you legitimately want to make a website and not have it made for you.

Download the 30 day trial of dreamweaver.
Then find a site that will give you free nonprofit hosting with the purchase of a domain name.
Make some awesome do good site like getting kids into skiing.
Watch online tutorials. I don't really know any outside of lydia which is quite expensive.

I hold strong on the fact that Wordpress is blogging software. People who tell you they will make you a website and put the entire thing in wordpress when the blog isn't the primary need are not web developers.
I just really really hate Wordpress and its ability to make people think they can call themselves developers.

the best tutorials i've found are w3schools.org or .com (just google w3schools html tutorials)
